Simon, we are Dutch not German. Some of use do speak German, but we are from the Netherlands (that little ass kickin' country next to Germany). Pleople from the Netherlands are called Dutch (don't ask me why)

Why is it that English/American ppl can't speak (or read) any other language? I think it's cause we're really lazy! I am from England and I can read and speak French (sort of) but no one else I know can even remotely speak another language. BTW I can't read Dutch - so don't write it....it makes me paranoid when I don't know what your saying :(

Also I think that anyone from the Nether Regions should be called "Nethers" not Dutch :D Oh and I thought LightWing was from Belarus not America!

Well as I told I live near the boarder and almost all the poeple I know (here) speak German, it's not that diffeculd, our dialect looks on it. I'm not really good in speaking languages and German is still somwhat diffeculd for me (I don't speak our dialect) but I can understand it very well (I'm better at French)

Well I'm English and I'm pretty good at French and Spanish (I'm doing AS/A2-levels in them). But I think that all the Norse/Germanic languages (yes, including English and Welsh and German and Dutch and Flemish and the Scandinavian languages) are really nasty ugly languages, and the Latinate ones (Latin, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese) are really beautiful.

Example:

'I love you' in Spanish: 'Te quiero'
'I love you' in French: 'Je t'aime'
'I love you' in Italian: 'Ti amo'

They're all really lovely and rolling.

But:

'I love you' in German: 'Ich lieberdich' (sp?)

Italian, Spanish and Latin are so similar that if you know Latin you could probably read a page of Spanish or Italian. Italian is more Latinate than Spanish, but Spanish is more logical. French is a little further out.
