A little while ago I recieved an ICQ mail, or something, saything that I had to forward a message to all of the people on my contact list, otherwise my acount would be deleted at 12 o'clock. This message said, "All ICQ acounts are being deleted after 12pm, unless you send this to all of your members on the contact list". Of course this a major bullshit, because first of all....its just bullshit. And second of all, I don't really give a damn its just an ICQ acount, and if it gets deleted I can always get a new one. But then people still fell for it, because I recieved this mail from somebody on my contact list.

You may not send files, but Icq is much slower, you can just send files by E-mail anyway.
I think it's a nicer environment to chat in, no hesitate on getting Aim or Msn messanger, Icq doesn't worth downloading.
About the horse thing and other humiliating things-

ICQ has a very good file transfere rate, far better then MSN, and certainly lots faster then email.
Also, you can send unlimited sized files over ICQ, and it will automaticaly resume if you get cut off.
Emails userlly have a pretty small file size limit (5mb or so), and you have to start from scratch if you get cut off.


I think it's a nicer environment to chat in, no hesitate on getting Aim or Msn messanger!

I use AIM mainly just because I find the Express feature handy when Im using the Internet away from my computer.

Aim, isn't the best of services, but there are some things I particulairly like about it...
Im the proud owner of a stupid amount of AIM usernames ;)

I don't like having to remember ICQ numbers...
Also AIM has a pretty cool interface. If I ever had to send files I used to use ICQ, but these-days I just pop it into my ftp: account and link it (Once your used to it, you appreciate the advantages. - you only have to upload it once for example...)

But you can't upload and download a file at the same time, so for 1-2-1 file swapping "sending" ver a IC protocall it is better.

Now, if you want to send files quicker, send it by Icq (I'm not that sure that it's faster anyway).

No, but it could be what DF said, it creates an account if you don't use a hotmail/msn e-mail adress. So you THINK you have your 'other adress' as passport, but you have a hotmail/msn account, without even knowing it.
