I've got a ISDN 64k6 connection with a private provider, so it's fast in fact of other ISDN users.

What speeds do you get with that ISDN line, Smazy? I got 12 kb/s myself still in my ISDN time... looooong ago (it seems ;))

That I thought, too, but isn't 26 kbps the minimum?

If that's the minimum in Germany than I think I should consider to move about 20 kilometers!

I don't know so much about it, but here the 56K-modems are
free if you agree to keep on one provider(I know, 2 do that) for a year

Sorry, what is cable?
A vulgar word for ISDN? I know it isn't right :(

Internet per cable is faster than ISDN. ISDN is 64K, cable is 512K. And your line is 24h/day open, so you never have to dial-up.
And the best of all: no phone costs :)

Aha! In Germany it's ISDN+DSL+Flat-rate. I thought DSL is
an american short form ;)

wacko

DSL is something else...
DSL is using the phone-line to connect to the internet (at a higher speed though), cable is by using the television and radio cables.

There also is ISDN 128K.

elmuerte
2000-12-08, 00:28
that is dual ISDN, you will use two ISDN lines at the same time.
