I agree with El Muerte on this i'm afraid....but there is a fine line. A *joke* SPAM message is a)not funny and b)cluttering up the board. You should all be grateful at the amount of effort put into making this board by EL Muerte (infitesimally better than an "InsideTheWeb" message board), and you should therefore be respectful (to a point :) to it. Also, I think there is room to talk about other things, but not to the point where it just becomes an advertisement for your own means (like promoting your own website's that aren't relevant).

But I still don't understand why I can't promote my own wesite...come on! I've been here for about 2 years!
And the website I created will also used for my own fanfics and perhabs (in the futere) for fan art.

You may post your website here, as long as it has something to do with LBA (that is, posting it in the general forum). If you have some sort of other website, you may post a like in the Off site forum (I won't mind it, but I won't like it much), I just don't want people coming in here and start posting their web pages just to get some hits. So what sites will I allow, well simple: if it's a fan site about something that can be related with LBA in some sort of way (other adventure games, adventure\fanatasy novels, etc ...)
Ofcourse you may post other links from official sites that are some what in this category (the link 3Developer is allowed... but that japanese thing is not), posting links to funny sites is in the grey section, posting a link to a funny bit on the internet is allowed, but if it happens to much I have to put a hold on it.

Yes we do need these rules. If the LBA community grows more people will join this forum, and it will get messy without those rules. And you people need to know the rules since some of you might become an moderator.

If you hosted our sites on the MBN, or even 'hosted' them (as in linking to them in a large way), that might stop us from wanting to 'spam'. But usually, hosted sites are tucked away into a corner of the site and forgotten about, so they get no hits whatsoever ever again. They would have to be prominent.
