The Curse of the Newbies?

Hey all I couldn't help noticing the amount of moronic threads lately, so I'm just wondering if there's like something in that Terms and Conditions you check before joining the forums, something that says:

"1. On your behaviour in the forums:

1.1 Every goddamn newbie shall write in improper, bad grammar english, spewing nonsense everywhere, making little to no sense at all, bringing forth the most useless of discussions, irritate every veteran member possible and repeat threads before searching the forums for at least 6 months up to 3 or 4 YEARS or you shall be banned."

Any idea?

Most of the newbies are spammers who post links about downloading free movies and TV from the internet. Did I miss any legendary newbie threads that I should be aware of SGK?

Yeah, with newbies I meant not necessarily newly-registered people, but y'know... those "outsiders".

I don't see the point of hand picking specific threads when this entire forum is currently one of the most boring, useless places on the web.
it's only out of difficulty to kick old habits (and my love for trolling) that i still come here. and i'm ashamed of it.

Seems rather unfriendly to want to stop, say, someones attempt to discus funfrocks fights.
"outsiders" only become insiders by mutely participation after all.

Of course, a block paragraph of text isn't too pleasant to read.

The irony being that in the darkest days before there was even a whiff of legitimacy to a potential LBA 3, it was a clusterfuck of awesomeness.

Maybe all of us oldies are just too cynical now. Or just that...older. Can't spend as much time around the forum to engage in autoerotic pleasures.

Well, Twinsan, actually there is a difference between "Can't decide" and "Have decided neither are better"- you really should have worded your poll better. Either way, you (and no one else) have proven nothing.

doesn't deciding "neither are better" necessarily imply an inability to decide though?
i mean, if someone COULD decide that one is better than the other, he would surely not decide that neither are better.

stated formally,
one has decided that neither are better if and only if he can't decide which is better.


besides, i don't think it's fair to say that nobody probved anything.
personally i very much enjoyed the discussion on why lba 1 and 2 are like yin and yang. or something.

Unfortunately, some people remain a newbie an entire lifetime. Others take years and years. Join date =/= growing up.

That's what I normally do; but when I'm in a good mood and I decide to waste my time and not to ignore in an attempt to be nice to other supposed LBA fans, I expect some intelligence in the communication from the other part as well, otherwise it seems like we're talking with fans of pacman or tetris (nothing wrong with these games, but... y'know). And if threads are just meant to count numbers, what's the point? who cares if LBA 1 or 2 wins? will that change anything? who cares? not only this has been done a thousand times before, what matters are people's opinions, not the shitty poll's options, and I'm amazed how everyone is picky on that rather than what I'm actually saying. Including non-newbie members.

I am aware of the definition of newbie, Polaris, thank you. What you fail to understand is that, even though he's not technically a newbie anymore, he still behaves like one.
