I see what you mean.
Although, I've looked into the files, It is possible to delete that function, but that's really just details. Anyway, I had it shipped to France and got it alright. It is still possible to get an iplayer (probably a test version of the DSTWO). That one even has an anti-piracy protection, forbidding the booting of files bigger than 4mb, but it's really hard to find now.
