• I compäre the CD music, notably the little hick-up that the GOG versiön seems to have in the main menu.
• I compare the MIDI music differences when playing on Windows and on an unmodified Linux midi setup
• I make a case about the inadequacy of Germän äccents.

It seems GoG's music is of worse quality than the original. What a shame =/

Anyway, I always thought LBA's music isn't that good. Phil Vachey wouldn't reach his prime until LBA2 =D

I know, I sound horrible! But didn't I just point out that there is actually no difference in the actual quality of the music? It's all because of the software synthesizer used to play the MIDIs.

Oh, I didn't listen to it all (and it was in the background) so maybe I missed that part. My bad

Interesting. They should be more careful from now on (GoG). Those old games barely have any good music to begin with, if you break it even one bit you totally destroy the sounds of a game.


Btw, don't get in tizzy about your english accent. You should hear mine! (But, alas, that will never happen :P )

for some reason i can't hear anything onn the video, hopefully it will work on my main labtop when i get the part for it, cause i really want to see solid proof of this because i also noticed this.

If you cannot get video sound working online, I could also try to provide a download link for it. The problem just would be where to host it.

First, this soundfont thing has nothing to do with GOG - it has to do with how the user set their Operating System.
Second, it only applies to Creative Labs sound cards. I have a Genius C-Media PCI sound card and it doesn't use soundfonts at all. Instead, it uses the old way of doing MIDI (FM/SW synthesizer?). So with it, the music will sound the same everywhere.
However, on slower PC's (my old Pentium 4 as an example), DOSBox has the tendency to make the MIDI music sound slow.

I don't have a sound card, I use onboard sound via USB. True, if you use a real sound card that does old MIDI synthesizing, you will not need a software midi synthesizer (which I was talking about, called Timidity).
