If sopa or pipa or acta goes trought, I think people will just figure out new ways how to screw the system. Somebody invents somekind of other bill that allows piracy or downloading or some cheesy way that bypasses legaly sopa, pipa or acta.

Instead of understanding how the internet work, and understanding that information isn't something physical, they just hold whoever happens to own the harddrive the information happens to be stored on responsible. It's like a joke.

It's like a demented game of pass the parcel. If you happen to have it when the music stops...

If only - its even more nuts then that.
In some cases they hold the person that links to the data responsible even if they dont even host it.
Try looking up certain things on Google ("MS Office torrent" for example), and you will see where they have been ordered to censor sites.
They can, of course, choose not too - but then they lose their DMCA "safe harbor" status and become responsible for the content of the stes they link too.

What so "I don't actually have the parcel, but I can tell you who does." "In that case we're going to act as if YOU had it when the music stopped. Good luck with that..!"

Next they'll imprison the witnesses who saw that link. In a heavily guarded government facility.

That's insane. I was saying that as a joke. They actually got a *court order* for that?

I don't know what to even think about this. Our civilization is governed by retarded monkeys.

Indeed.
http://www.gamespot.com/news/sony-gr...k-case-6302659

This was what sparked the anomalous hack on Sony, incidentally, which was reported much more.

More humorously, it also sparked a nice wave of posts finding new ways to share sonys top-secret key.

(oh, and having looked at that image, now Sony is after you!)
