Awesomeness. Not sure what horrible flaws you see in there, but whatever they are you only see them because it's your game. Only now I realized those bushes Twinsen bashes (bush-bash!) are clover bushes.

You can press 1-7 to jump to a certain level. There's also a level 8 but you can't reach it with that shortcut. And in that level there's the cataraman which I can't figure out how to use.

Oh yah, for sure, the new game will still feel quite similar to Twinsen, although it already doesn't feel very much like LBA

probably the worst glitch is if you do a spinning jump, then do an upwards spin slash, throw the ball and recall it back to you, you can do another spin slash and keep repeating, basically allowing you to fly and take huge shortcuts.
everything else is minor stuff, like charging the ball while running uphill, taking damage while on hill, animations not transitioning correctly etc.

Yeah, we didn't put in a key to go to level 8 for some reason.. and yeah, you can't use that catamaran either.
We were going to have it so you could leave after level 5, or leave after level 8 (requiring the health increases and triple spin slash)

Strange, I just played it, and I went over like only 4 levels before finding the catamaran.

Anyway, I like the game very much, I feel like a ninja with Twinsen jumping around and stabbing

Just played through your game, it's really nice!
Real shame you won't be continuing, you've done great work so far.
Although the MIDI music is a bit rubbish, you should have used the better quality ones!

I noticed that already, though I've only been using it to get some power-up, not a shortcut.

Love the "arrow down jump attack" It's very elegant and effective.

Great to play your game TakaM. Realy gives me back some good old nintendo vibe.

I would suggest taking an extra person to work on the sounds for your next game. Not just the music but especially the sounds.

Anyway amazing work, keep it up. ^_^

You know .Takam, it's funny. Just a few weeks back I was sitting in the train with a student of my Game Design study, and we spoke about GameMaker. I told him I knew someone making a game with it, based on LBA, and he replied: "You mean Twinsen? .Takam?"

He told me he's active on the GameMaker forums. Funny how we both 'know' you different ways.
Anyhoo, just this morning I was sitting in the train when he told me 'So did you see the new .Takam demo?'. Of course I did.
Just a reminder of how you are in the center of conversations from time to time!

Not sure how much you care now, but anyway:
I played the game, it's very slick and professional looking in terms of graphics and engine, I didn't encounter any glitches, but the gameplay is very weak.
You can practically go through the entire game by jumping/spinning (Sonic the Quetch?), the game offers nothing new even after I played around 6 levels, and nothing was really there on the first place.

You're a talented guy, but since you're taking this game further on a separate game world I'd highly recommend improving your game and level design skills, finding a way to keep the game fun or at least have some element that will make you want to see what's in the next level.

I totaly disagree. If anything is weak its the sounds and thats just cause they had to end it somewhere. But the gameplay is rather brilliant.

It's only a fangame, it's not really possible to have much variety. The gameplay is pretty addicting and a bit hard to master as well. And there's definitely challenge even if you know how to do it perfectly.

I totally agree, and the movements look so cool that even a level with nothing in it would be fun to play

edit : I also like the fact that even if I have a 16:9 monitor, when I put the game in fullscreen (F4) it stays in a 4:3 shape. ^^
