New Year's Resolutions For 2009
*drum roll*

Yes, it's time to discuss your goals, ambitions etc. etc!



Mine:
  • Start learning a random Germanic language, since I have experience in them the most, so it should be the easiest.
  • Find a new sport to be a national competitor(chess is really becoming a hassle)in.
  • Fix up all mistakes I made this past year in my life(lots).
  • Lots of other little stuff.

Aha:

* Take those 7 final exams and succeed. Start my 3rd year at uni, for good and good.

* Finish some stories I've been writing for a time now. Work on new ones.

* Keep studying english. Probably starting French.

* Watch some renowned animes (e.g. Eureka 7, Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop) and finishing with Dragon Ball (300 episodes left)

* Play Riven, the sequel of Myst.

* Lots of other stuff.

I can understand for the chess being a hassle, but what are you going to replace it with?

And why on earth do you think it's reasonable to resolve your past mistakes? I don't think people will judge you for your past mistakes.

I'm fine with 1280*1024.

Oh and concerning resolutions, I never have any which I remember more than one day. So I guess they're immaterial.

To A(with a little background about it, much left out): Well, I'm sick of taking entire weekends nearly every week to play in tournaments, as well, the provincial organization for chess is biased. The South African Chess Association is becoming very biased, making up silly rules to keep certain players in the national squad. Unless I move to a different country with a better national chess association, or they come back to their senses, I'm boycotting it.

In response to your actual question...
Well, I have a few possibilities, I'm quite good at table-tennis, as well as marksmanship, a reasonably large sport in South Africa. I just haven't ever gone very deep into either of them.


To B: Well, they're actually quite recent events, which could potentially spill over to the new year, so I thought I'd just add it in.

  • Find a girlfriend who shares the same feelings that I have for them. (One girl in particular... Long story)
  • Have more confidence in ones-self.
  • Learn to organize better
