LBA 1 ladders

I cant seem to climb down ladders. Is there some kind of trick I'm missing, or is this a bug? Thanks.

You can't climb down, only up

. Its this way by design not a bug.

If you want to get down, just jump or let the character fall.

Isn't the case when twinsun attempts to climb down a ladder, he starts to climb down before letting go and avoiding the damage by just jumping down?
I am almost certain that's the case.

Twinsen has a slight retardation, making this type of action impossible.

It's not hard when the rest of your planet (or universe, as in LBA 2) is similarly handicapped as well.

Ive just opened an account on here after days of trying to get both games of lba to work! Sorry to randomely put this on a ladder thread but it wont let me post a thread

So I can't get lba to work (the first one) on my windows vista laptop, Ive installed it, then downloaded a patch i found from here (the lbawin link to the website to download doesnt work?!) and i think i also downloading the funnyfrog patch for lba too and still didnt work. When I try and run it, it says that it can't open full screen, so I went on properties and clicked full screen and it still says the same thing and doesnt work?!
Can someone please help! The longer I cant get it to work the more I want to play it again haha

NEVERMIND I'VE DONE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so happy!!!! If I have any problems I'll post again haha! YAAAAAY (however lba2 i cant get the sound to work, it cuts out like lots of peoples. I installed that sound fix for the car as people said that also makes the sound work! However when I try and copy the files in (mslddr or something like) it just comes up with unexpected error?!! Ive even reinstalled the game again, restarted etc etc but it just wont let me copy it! Any help??

As for the ladders, it really wasn't very smart of the designers, since in the Temple of Bu there's a long ladder from which you always lose some life when falling. Or maybe they intended you to lose some life there...

I think that in one of the many times I played, I got there with minimum health and died just because of this ladder.

I think it must be because of windows but im not sure why?? It wont let me copy the file anywhere, it just says "unexpected error" and then says that windows wont let it copy there for an unknown reason :S

And morshem i remember that happening to me in the temple of bu too

Are you trying to copy it out of the zip-archived folder directly? You need to unpack it.

Can you try to give us a screenshot of the error message? Your keyboard should have a "PRINT" key in the top right corner. Press that, then open paint and paste (Ctrl+V), then save the image. When posting, make sure you're on the advanced reply (not the quick reply), then select manage attachments and upload your picture.

There you go! And I don't know if i have unpacked it?? If I do double click on it it asks me what to i want to open it with because I don't think i have any programme that supports it, however I know I can open zip files as I have done before so that can't be the problem??

It's a rights error. Your system tries to prevent you from altering the files of your LBA 2 installation because it assumes you don't have the right to do so.

Make sure you have administrative rights and open your ZIP unpacker program as an admin.

Finished lba1 last night and just started the second one, its so good to hear the sound again!
