You can play it with an emulator, there are lots of places to find the rom on the net.

An SNES emulator would work. Just don't dabble in GameCube ROM's or you'll get a visit from the big N.

ROM's are illegal if you don't own the actual game (which you don't. ) I have an NES emulator, with about 25 games right now. I own most of them, but there is a few that I don't. As long as you're not downloading N64 and GameCube/PS1 and 2/X-Box games, Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft will not pursue legal action since they no longer make money on the older systems (however, they are still under copyright law, which makes ROM's illegal). My SNES still works, and I'm not planning on downloading an emulator since most of the games I want I can easily still find in stores.

Try Ebay, someone is (most likely) selling it.

edit: TRY RIGHT HERE , a shitload of people selling the cart.

Pfff Secret of Mana is an Abandonware.

Even if the right owners didnt say it loud, it's a game that couldnt make money anymore. It's not as if you touched to playstation, gamecube or Xbox games indeed, the Snes is dead and all those old games are everywhere on the net.
It's more illegal to use a little shareware more than 30 days without paying than to take 1000 of such games on the net I say

Som2 = Seiken Densetsu 3 = KICK ASS

seriously, it's way better than the first one, but you'll HAVE TO download this one (it's been De-japed)... I've been replaying it for a week or so now, and honestly, this game has the best RPG gameplay I've ever seen

Actualy, NO, its not abandonware.
---
I believe I read its comming out on the GBA along with about 4 other Square games.
The only legal way of playing is to wait for the GBA version, or too get an old SNES.
--
btw, Gamecube/Xbox Roms do not exist.
Any files claiming to be such are likely to be virus's or other eveil files

And if you dont want to buy a GBA or an old snes, how do you play it ?
Nah it's useless to care in any way with such games that are impossible to play legally on a PC, with all what they'll win with that game on PC during the next 10 years, the authors wont be able to buy a big mac. So send them a big mac to be peaceful and then play Secret of mana without caring

So if you dont want to buy whats needed to play it then you should pirate it?
Sorry, its just plain CRAP.
Saying "I dont care to buy this" therefor, I should be able to play it for free is just stupid.

If its impossible to play legaly on a PC,
THEN YOU SHOULDNT PLAY IT ON A PC.

If it's impossible to play it normally, without buying a console, it's the developpers' fault.
Personnaly, I've never played fully such games on PC, but if those are good games there are no reasons for the PC users not to access them. If developpers dont want to be pirated they gotta move their ass to make a PC shareware version or anything, but they mustnt forget the PC users.

Good grief.
Your arogance is amazing.
--
"to play it normaly" IS TO PLAY IT ON A CONSOLE.

It was designed and made for consoles, not for PCs.
If you want to play it then you have to buy a console.
By your logic you are allowed to play any console game for free, simple because you cant be arsed to buy a console.
Thats mind-blowingly stupid.
You can buy a SNES for £15, or less.
SNES+GAME = £30, at the very most.
Normal PC game = £40
Once you own a SNES you can then play other games on it LEGALY, normaly for about £10 each.

it's a very grey legal area, isn't it? i think if you buy a legal copy of a game, you are then entitled to do what you want with it as long as it's not distributing copies of it. you can buy a game and make an altered copy to play in your own PC, just the same as you can buy a CD and tape it to play in your car. you're just not allowed to distribute it.

but admittedly what he's doing is illegal

If you can find it in the shops (that's not the case for all the games), you better have to buy it and then to play it on PC, cause you've the license. Like that even without console you're in your right.

But if this game is unfindable in its console version, you'd be wrong of being ashamed to play the emulated version. There are so many bad things to do, you shouldnt care at all about guys playing such antiquities it's pointless to react to a so minimal "crime".

You'd better compare that to the millions of guys that crack Warcraft III and stuff, THAT's a danger for the future video games' originality and price.

If you cant buy the game in any shape or form, then of course its ok to emulate.
But you said something different, you said it was ok as long as it wasn't for sale on the PC.
That is a wrong, 100% black area.

That's not what I meant.
Getting SoM, or even a snes, is hard nowadays anyway.

I missunderstanded when you said:

Quote:

hmz...
--
And no, its not hard at all.
While some games are hard to find, theres many places that sale SNES. Online second-hand places, or stores like Cash Convertors (or whatever its called now...) are bound to sale them.
I know 3 shops near me that sale old games/machines.
Allthough, I admit its pot-luck with local stores.
Searching for a spacific game you really need to go online.
==
And even if you cant get hold of a copy, you still shouldn't emulate unless no further release are planned.
Seiken Densetsu 1 &2 are being released on the GBA.
Therefor, it is illegal, and wrong to pirate the roms.
Saying "I dont want to own a GBA", does not make it any more legal either.
