Just on the last frame; http://forum.magicball.net/attachmen...1&d=1233825358 No biggy, just thought any mention of LBA should be recorded really. |
That's actually pretty awesome that Yahtzee said that.
|
Haha, awesome.
|
Confirms he's got good taste.
|
Yes he does have a good taste. He reviewed Portal and said it was perfect.
|
heh... the usual "Oh, I hoped it was news about a new LBA" remark :p
|
Holy shit this made it to the news section!

But he also said he preferred Mario Sunshine to Mario 64, which, for anyone that has played both is an insane remark. |

Oh my god. I would've completely missed that!

Your either mad or have poor memory ;) Seriously, though, the main (huge) point against sunshine is it gets very repedative, and this is a criteria Yahtzee marks down heavily elsewhere, so it seems baffling thats not the case here. Mario64 was a much more diverse game, both in gameplay and in aesthetics/environments. (Nothing in sunshine was, say, as clever as the big/small hallway, or the mirror room.) The only point it wasnt as repedative, which purhapes Yahtzee would have marked down, was the kooper boss fights. Mario64 did use effectively the same boss 3 or 4 times which kinda was a waste. (a mistake they repedated with Metroid Hunter). |
Sure, the guy's favorites list won't match up with everybody, but common his favorites include:
Portal, Psychonauts, BGE, and he clearly likes LBA. The guy's on the right track! |
I saw this too.
Note two things: 1. In the past, he's reviewed older games he likes, such as Psychonauts. 2. He's currently going back through all the big games of 2008, because there have been no significant releases lately. So, how about we send him lots of e-mails, asking him to review LBA1 and/or 2? LBA1&2 remain my favourite PC games ever. I deliberately haven't played them for about 8 years now, so that when I finally do play them again, the experience will be as new and fresh for me as possible. Hopefully I'll forget some of the things I have to do, as well. |
WUK? As in "the incredible"? Is that really you??!
|
Welcome "wuk" please stick around this time :)
And yeah, not a bad idea. A funny LBA review could be a usefull resource too. (increase awareness of the games etc) |
emailing Yahtzee will not have a positive effect
|
Not directly, but maybe if we use the Power Of Physiology(tm)
eg, email acting like we don't have a clue what LBA is, and he gets the idea on his own to review it to inform everyone. Or hide subliminal messages in an email on a different subject, Darren brown style. |
Or! We could kidnap his only son and mail him one of his fingers every day until he agrees to review LBA.

Didn't Yahtzee have a video that said he's not very fond of people recommending him games to review?
|
I was thinking more subtle like this;
:P Quote:

Very low chance in the world he'll think of the Dark Monk from LBA2. He's a critic, not a savant :p. How do we even know he have played the games?
However I agree it's a better mail suggestion than mine :p. At least if he doesn't like recommendations. |
It was just a example,it needs a lot more effort to even stand a chance of working.
The idea is to carefull script it so the letters "LBA" come together, as well as other things from the games :P An example of the techique; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoIgAo0BY8E As you can see there a lot more effort needs to go into constructing the words :P - |
Yes, I was "the Incredible WUK" back in the day. It's been a while, eh? I have kept on checking this site for news about once every year or two, but now I've seen reason to make a new user account. I chose this one because it's nostalgic, even though it's a little juvenile. I think it's incredible I'm still remembered; I wasn't that active a member (or so I thought)! I still recognise some of your names too: Chaosfish, Lightwing, Darkflame, elmuerte.
Of course, e-mailing Yahtzee may have no effect. But every time he complains about people's suggestions for games he should review, it's because he "knows" he won't like the suggested games (e.g. Mario Kart Wii). But he appears to like LBA at least. It's just a thought. |
