Well, I meant they started to do this ten years ago.

CF, it's been a fad since the 90's... if not longer...
There was even a Star Trek TNG episode that sort of capitalised on that fad, where they found a derelict space ship from the early 21st century with people frozen inside and brought them back. They'd usually either freeze the whole body, or just the head, or just the brain in liquid Nitrogen. The issue with that is of course that the cellular membranes get shredded to bits by forming ice crystals... |
Indeed. But apparently they are getting better on that front at least.
For the moment though Id expect we will have more luck with biologically induced hibernation. It wont get you across the galaxy, but human hibernation on demand would still be useful for medical uses. Should be very possible too as plenty of animals do it. |

Oh wow...
Not long ago a saw a video of a new "dog" model of theirs, while it didn't summersault, the fluidity of the movements is still very impressive. |

AI live playing piano in your browser.
Turn conditioning on for better results, and use a low note density. |
Great, you can have an AI to make the OST of your game now.
Jokes aside, yeah, nice, I guess. So we live in a time where machines can make drawings, compose music, build things, drive around... the only thing they lack yet is a purpose to do all these things. |
