I guess if your life is constantly exciting and full of adventure and you're never bored, then you can settle for what's real. But even then you can't say this isn't cool.

Well, in all realism, I think it will be exactly like the internet is now.
99% pointless rubbish that either does nothing but vagualy entertains us, or wastes are time completely. And 1% truely usefull tools which revolutionise the way we live. I believe just like the internet, its the 1% of content that actualy benifits humanity that outweighs all the other crap. The problem is we are infovours, we love information. We are addicted to it. Dosnt mater its value. So its both a blessing and a curse. The same thing that makes us invent new medcines, food sources, gives us heat and light and will, and ensures we live comfortable also results in us checking our emails every two seconds, or clicking on stumble apon, or spending WAY too long on social networking sites :p ...or making posts like these ;) |

I made a software for the French space agency (CNES) at work, and as it's somehow Hi-tech or at least related to Hi-tech stuff, I thought it would be the right thread to show it to you guys:

Those sorts of interfaces are getting a dime-a-dozen, but I must say that one looks particularly slick.
The 3D-offseting and slight tilting when panning around really improves it. The earth looks nice too. What I'd really like is the inverse, however, a touch-operated dome which projects a interactive copy of Celestia around you :D |
Yeah, that'd be really cool...
|
Link this looks extremely cool.
How long did you work on this? |
Thanks :) Well, it took me 4 months. I had to learn about quite a few technologies I didn't know to do it (it's my first professional software). I also made an administrative tool to easily create content.

Cool, impressive. I struggle even just modding simple scrips.:P
|
Excellent work. This makes be want to see LBAO right now :P
|
Great job Link! That's fantastic. Which I got to do something that exciting in my internship.
