Dynamic camera in LBA2!
 
Hi, with all this fantastic work on reverse engineering LBA1 and 2 I wonder if it's possible to implement a camera in LBA 2 which automatically redraws the scene (imagine pressing 'return' 30+ times per second!). Lba 2 implemented a static background for obvious speed issues, but nowadays most computers can run LBA2 10X over!!! Perhaps the camera could be limited to looking behind and above Twinsens head. Anyway, nice to visit the forum again and find it's still really busy (busier than ever). :holomap:

Problem is that the game also pauses a fraction of a second after pressing enter... But yeah, I've always liked the idea, sometimes I ran around pressing enter as much as possible.

If you will look in LBA2 Options menu, you'll see "Movie Camera ON/OFF".

That was supposed to be the dynamic camera, but they didn't implemented it.

Not really; with the movie camera on you see Twinsen from non-standard angles in certain situations like jumping over the lava streams at the Island of the Celebration in platform style, and the top-down view when you walk into the secret cemetary entrance to the school of magic. If you turn the movie camera off you won't see this.

I don't like the movie camera that much, some of the angles it puts you in can make it hard to manuver accurately.

So you mean you can override the set camera angles at the School of Magic etc.? Those are really annoying sometimes.

I know it's possible to do a script that presses return all the time.
So would it be possible that this script knows if you are playing or if you are in a menu?

C++ I believe. But we don't have the source code for LBA2, so modding the actual program wouldn't be possible.
