the palace

in the emporors palace, can you go through it without having to face an enemy until the lastdoor where you have to face the 3 rat things? :)

thanks in advance

Kitarii 2008-02-04 00:21

With respect to where Twinsen will be facing after passing through the doors, these are the directions you should take.

Forward, Left, Right, Forward, Left, Forward.

I think. Let me know if it works. ;)

moothead 2008-02-04 10:35

thanks but you can't jsb into the palace anyways so :'(

Kobold 2008-02-04 12:35

The problem is that there are two arrangements of the rooms in the palace, which are chosen at random. On your way back, you get the other one.

Kitarii 2008-02-04 18:48

But you would surely use the magicball to crack to window and escape from the final room that way?
And I'm pretty sure it's possible to JSB anywhere.

If you're good enough. ;)

I usually just pick a direction and keep going in that direction till I can't anymore, and then turn 90 degrees.

To explain better, the palace is a square (Or rectangle- not sure if one side is longer than the other. I can get away with this if Nintendo* can), you start at one corner and are trying to get to the oposite corner. Instead of going through the middle, I tend to run along the edges, if that helps you visualise it. It's a bit longer, but you don't get turned around or anything and it's not that much longer either.

*the Gamecube was not actually a cube. It was a cuboid, hence calling it the Gamecube is false advertising and they should have been taken to court and made to reissue the product after renaming it the Gamecuboid.

Interesting.
I suppose it is a special kind of scene, separate from the rest.
It certainly makes less sense than any other part of the game, geographically.

Yes I've done that in the past, but since then I've worked out the pattern.

But this way you'll definitely meet an enemy. And that's what moodhead is trying to prevent.

Oh yeah, sorry, can't edit the post any more, I better copy & paste it next time. Might be related to the fact that a d at the end of a syllable is generally pronounced [t] in German. :p

moothead 2008-02-06 00:01

haha im not very at german -.-

CiB 2008-02-06 14:01

If memory serves, you can't do it without running into an enemy, as you must go through the last room, which has enemies in it. If memory serves they're split up into three differen, more managable chunks though.

Kitarii 2008-02-07 00:17

Indeed, if you take the route I've given then the only enemies you will meet are the three pigs.
I suspect it should be possible to JSB the door though.
I'm not sure why you are even going into the palace if you are doing it without weapons.
Supposedly it is possible to jump through the hole in the statue even before it is visible.
Sounds a bit dodgy I guess...

Isn't one of the fragments in there? I suppoes you could glitch your way around that, but I'm not sure how. I don't use glitches. Well, not for LBA2. Seems somewhat disrespectful to abuse the games slight imperfections like that.

Kitarii 2008-02-07 01:28

Well the whole point of this little excercise is to abuse all the bugs. ;)
But I still don't think it will be possible to get the fragment piece out unless you fight the hussars and the... thing.

CiB 2008-02-08 00:51

I know. I just saying that I'm not sure what can be glitched aroun, but it'd surprise me if you glitch your way around needing the Sups fragment.

If memory serves, isn't the chest with the fragment locked, and you have to kill the "thing" (Best word to use- nice one Kitarii) to get the key?

Kitarii 2008-02-08 00:52

Yes this is true, which was basically my point.
And I think it was Dan (Echomote) that said you could jump into the statue before you could see it, but it was tricky to do.
However, if you don't have any weapons at all, that seems like the only way to do it.

It was proto pack who claimed he got into the invisable statue, if you read the 'no weapons challenge' thread you will see that its impossible jump in
