Darkflame 2017-02-12 14:51

Yes the mooooooon would be good :)

Looks like Otringal is in the lead, so i've begun work on that.

It has about 150 separate models, a very big island indeed. |)

It seems like the project has reached over 4,000 views! For some people that might not be considered a huge thing, but I consider it a great milestone. So thank you to all the people who've taken their time commenting on this project, or even helping me along the way. Truthfully i haven't done a lot of things in a long time. I've wanted to make this project something more special and impressive, more so than a uninspired Citadel Unity port. At some points, i feel like it would be easier to throw the project in the garbage can, and re design a citadel of my own because of all the limitations of using the default LBA 2 assets. It would feel like a real project that way too.

Anyway i digress. I still feel like i got things to do for this project and for the future. Hopefully I'll get something good progress going.

Congratulation I think 4K is already nice amount (I have for sure few of them) :) About doubts don't worry, this is just feeling if you done that at some point you would understand that throwing away it was bad idea because making stuff from scratch is not easier. Been there decided to make something more and still stuck there after just 2-3 years :D

Thank you! I definately admire people like you who can work from scratch with their projects. When I said it would be easier to just throw my project in the garbage can and redesign the whole project, I guess i meant it would be more worthwhile and respectful to create something on your own, more hardworking and not easier.

Angelus 2017-04-25 17:51

Thanks but I don't think I'm somebody worth admiring. I'm just random guy who happened to be stuck in one project for really long time. So far results were poor. About your dilemma I think in your case mixing may be good solution. Use original assets when you can and make new one in cases you think its worth it.

Continue the good work Amnesti, I really like the Unity project!

Thank you alot for asking! |)

I will make a big post about the progress i've made so far. I just need to gather some screenshots first.

MevX 2017-06-06 17:07

So there are some changes and new additions to the project. First off i made some visual changes to already existing scenes, like changing the colors or textures.

Otringal is also nearing it's completion, and i thought i'd add a night version too (even though night may or may not be impossible in otringal)

That Otringal Island is awesome man. That's gorgeous!

Polaris 2017-06-06 21:25

Loving the lampposts and the lights in general |)
The Casino looks great by night !
Also... Sorry but... There are no nights on Twinsun  Makes you wonder why they even have lampposts actually...

I kinda felt like that was the case all along. But even then, i don't think i would have cared enough to not do it.

You know, thats a great question.

Darkflame 2017-06-07 03:05

I worked out once some locations could have very brief sunsets, but I dont have the details to hand.

I also done some thinking about this and came to almost the same conclusion. But this is only taking into account the stuff written in L.B.A. intro. Personally I still trying to figure out how whole Binary Star setup would work in real life and make sense :/

MevX 2017-07-18 04:28

Made a quick video about my attempt at making some similar control system to that of LBA 2. Screen updates automatically when you near the edges of the screen, but you can also update it manually with Enter. It's not really a whole lot, but I guess I just want to show this project isn't entirely dead yet.

I still need a proper twinsen model with animations, and maybe a behaviour menu as well. If somebody wants to help me understand how to import the original LBA 2 animations into some modern program like Blender, I would appreciate it a whole lot.

MevX 2017-07-18 05:12

Oh, and i also brought back multiplayer.

https://i.gyazo.com/3941167f263558f4...3a0e2ea8fc.jpg

I added a lobby, a chat, and some cosmetic features, but i still haven't figured out how to fix some things like changing maps yet. So right now Citadel Island Day is the only available multiplayer map.

Bot13 2017-07-20 09:27

I love how you're still working on this. Good luck fixing the map loading, that would be an amazing feature!

Why do you think so? This suns may rise up and go down together or have a different "schedule", and sometimes they both are down, in this case lampposts turns on.

Recently i experimented around with using VIRTUAL REALITY in my project. I myself don't have a VR headset, but i have a few friends who do. Anyway, here is a short video with it in action, recorded by a friend.
