"re-birth"

If you don't mind, i'll continue on this project.
I think its a geat idea, and could be really cool.

Im expirienced with making mods, so thats no problem.
but, im also that kinda guy that gets bored after a couple of weeks.
But i dont think thats the case this time, i gotta finish a mod sometime !

Anyways, please state your opinion of me "taking control" of this project ?

Who will help ?

Xakep_INC 2003-04-23 15:28

Great Idea! If you'll need my help you know where to find me!

I can do some coding, modelling, web design, web mastering, web programming.

Panda 2003-04-23 16:10

Well, I dunno..... having a SWEDISH MODERATOR ^_^

Yeah, sure, you get my vote. Good luck :)

HomerSimpson 2003-04-23 16:31

Well, I'm ok with it. But Nights000 has most of the mod. I also have some stuff (like the front-end and such) but I think Nights000 should give away the lead since he was the project reviver before. You can't become the leader by vote, imho. He still is my leader.

BUT: I think it's a good idea.

Homeless 2003-04-23 16:50

HS: can you send the files you have to me ?

yes, i know i can't become a leader by a vote or just like that.
But, i think this project should live on.
it's a shame if it has to die.

HomerSimpson 2003-04-23 17:40

Sure, I can send you the files. But you should first contact Nights000, if he doesn't reply, I can send you my part.

Homeless 2003-04-23 17:43

Okay.

Homeless 2003-04-24 21:47

I've started a bit on it, and checked out some ways to code (program) the mod.

But we can't really start anything until Nights000 replies and give me all the projects files, so :-/

I don't really know what's done and what's not...

HomerSimpson 2003-04-24 22:04

By the way:

Half-Life 2 is coming out in September 2003 and it's supposed to be easier moddable. Just a suggestion |)

Homeless 2003-04-24 22:08

I know.
But i doubt it will be that easy to mod to..
Good suggestion though ;)

ARR, i want those old projects files.. Yarr :p

HomerSimpson 2003-04-25 11:37

Judging on the preview of PC Gamer, they talked to the developers, it will be the easiest moddable game yet.

Homeless 2003-04-25 11:52

hmm...ok
but i'll rather make it to HL1
and then see if we could import some of the mod.
to make it to HL2.

HomerSimpson 2003-04-25 11:55

Alrighty then.:)

Jon 2003-04-26 08:58

you got my vote, no doubt about that

Zend_DV 2003-05-09 09:14

hmmz does valve hammer editor support maps 4 LBA DM???

i wanna create sum maps for lBA DM =X
:D

Firephoenix 2003-05-09 16:52

The RMP objects can be optimized for a such mod. Tell me if you need anything.

newbie

Hi, my name is nout
I'm fully new to this forum, but I'm interested in making an LBA like game.

Can anybody summarize the status of your project, what your plans are etc...

I've quite some experiance in modeling using milkshape and with a 3D game engine.

I'd like to have some inside in what you have (models, maps, story etc...). Where can I find this information?

Hope to hear more soon!

HomerSimpson 2003-05-11 13:15

http://www.geocities.com/lba_dm

Check the progress tab.

nout 2003-05-11 13:53

Hmmm... Tried the site you mention and the last news if from 2002??

Also find no progress tab?

In the files section I can find 2 quite nice models
Is that all that exits?

Could you give a more complete overview

Thanks!

nout 2003-05-11 13:57

Can anybody tell me where I can find LBAdecomp.exe
All links I could find on the web are broken..

Thanks upfront!

ChaosFish 2003-05-11 15:20

Here.

Welcome btw, you'll enjoy it here. :)

HomerSimpson 2003-05-11 17:45

Oh, I see the progress tab wasn't there anymore. It's in the about section:
http://www.geocities.com/lba_dm/pages/about.htm

nout 2003-05-11 23:04

Hmmm...
Sounds there is not much information / activity

Where can I find the story you try to implement?
Where can I download the maps created and with which tools are they created?

Which game engine do you use?

HomerSimpson 2003-05-12 08:17

Story: Well, it's DeathMatch, so there isn't really a story. It's mainly about Twinsen and the rebels vs. the bad guys.

Maps: Nowhere, since the maps aren't finished/are only for the team.

Engine: Half-Life's.

nout 2003-05-12 22:50

Thanks for info

Some more questions:
- How can people help if the resources are not available?
- I can log in on this forum, so I guess I'm member.
Does this make me part of the team, or what is needed to become part of it?
- Is there still flexibility to change the game engine?
As far as I hear some comments, HL models are not so easy to construct

LBA decomp problems:
- I can run the program, but when I decompile, it tells that I have not enough space on the disk although I have at least 10GB??
Any idea what the problem is? I use WIN2000.
