The war

So, what do you think?

Yes, no, with a brief explanation if you want.

I say no, because Iraq has just as much right to keep weapons as the US does.

Double-J 2003-02-08 19:23

I want Saddam out, but most importantly, I want us out of the damned middle east, its caused nothing but problems.

Not only that, but I honestly don't want to get drafted, even though I would proudly serve my country, because my college career is just about to begin (and plus I don't like the desert. :p)

Peace! We want Peace! ;)

HomerSimpson 2003-02-08 19:38

Sure, I don't want a war.
But is Saddam doesn't keep his promise (like he's doing al those years) war should be declared. I don't want a war, but I think it's a neccisity.

So I'd say yes.

Also, I think this anti-Americanism should be over. A lot of people are too Anti-US, that's not good.

Darkflame 2003-02-08 19:43

The US shouldn't, the UN should.
And it should be a war on Saddam, not Iraq.

Gustav Sweden 2003-02-08 19:44

Homeless: Why?, I think it is too low. Bush is so crazy that we need to show where we stand. Europe cant go on like we do, in this cowardly way. We need to take distance from that warmad guy...

Lightwing 2003-02-08 19:45

The human race is not evolved enough to comprehend the term "peace."

I think it also should be a war against Saddam by the UN. Like I said:
"But is Saddam doesn't keep his promise (like he's doing al those years) war should be declared."
Not (only) by the US, but by the UN.

Atresica 2003-02-08 20:14

Sadam go? Yes

Thanks to UK and US? No

Thanks to UN? Yes

Interfere with Iraq after Sadam gone? No

't is as simple as that

Further more, Lightwing just spoke the truth...

Lgr 2003-02-08 20:51

I agree, I don't want a war run by the US (and to the lesser extent, GB) but a carefully drawn up plan from the UN to oust Saddam from power would be better.

Darkflame 2003-02-08 20:56

Yes, allthough there are a few twisted people close to Saddam that would probably need to go too.
(you dont want to cut one serpants head only for another to grow straight away).

Lgr 2003-02-08 20:58

Are any of us Englishians going on the anti war demo next Saturday (the 15th)?

I agree. But no Iraqi civilians should be killed. But if there is a war, it will happen anyway. :(

Star 2003-02-08 21:08

I don't think there should be a war. I don't think it's neccesary and there are enough problems in the world.
I won't say any more, because I can only be sarcastic about this and I might insult people by that.

HomerSimpson 2003-02-08 21:15

Star:
Because with no (UN) war, Saddam won't take us seriously ever.
It's saying:

"We've come to search for weapons, if you have them: We won't do a thing.
We've come to search for weapons, if you haven't them: We won't do a thing."

That's not very wise, he?

Star 2003-02-08 21:30

So what, you think it's wise to start a war?!?

HomerSimpson 2003-02-08 21:43

No (like I stated before), but I think it's unavoidable ---------> IF <---------- Saddam has those weapons.

Yep, I think it's something to do with our instincts that makes fighting so appealing.

I said no, just because people might think i'm weird for choosing the 'Who Cares?' option. I really don't care if a war happens. I mean, i'd mourn for the dead, but I wouldn't care if they declared war and everything.

Rex_Hollywood 2003-02-08 22:54

War = missiles on Israel

Guess.

Morden279 2003-02-09 01:20

War is inevitable, it's a moot point. It's a shame that the reasons justifying it are somewhat ambiguous.

If we want Saddam ousted, (which I think we all do) we may as well lend our support to the people going over there to do it.

Morden

"The next war will not determine what is right, but what is left."

War = stupid!! People die only coz the ones with power are bs.

Darkflame 2003-02-09 11:40

G.A. Zogem ~ Its impossible to have a war without cilivians getting killed.
Its just a question of which has the least deaths, war, or none.
And thats actualy far harder to work out then most people think.

I couldn't agree more.
It seems, that once Europeans stopped fighting amongst themselves, they found no need to maintain strong armies.
I don't want to see Europe crumble, and lose it's influence in the world. I resent the fact that the UK is showing preference to siding with the US, rather than sticking with the continent.

HomerSimpson 2003-02-09 12:43

Great Britain doesn't like Europe thát much. They tend to be more on their own than to rely on Europe. I don't say it's a bad thing, though. But I don't know if it's a good thing.

Reek 2003-02-09 12:47

Seperatism is one thing. And that's fine by me.

But......Asskissingism is another.
