Not sure if this has been done or if it can be done...

How about creating LBA in morrowind? I can't seem to find a map editor but it comes with a character editor and you can create quests and textures.

Has it been done before?

Funny you should say this as I am just right now downloading some nice plug-ins to begin replaying Morrowind . But as for a map I'm sure that it is possible to do it, the TES is an exceedingly powerful tool. Seems to me to be just too huge a task though for both an expert and a novice (such as myself).

Same thing goes for Neverwinter Nights.
Both have the tools.
And NWN is designed from the ground up for custom creation...

however it would still take plenty of work to create an LBA thing in either of them.

sgk: Think of it this way: it's like a message in a bottle. In our world, we put a message inside a bottle to protect it while it travels through the oceans to reach some other island. In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

It has a very powerful editor, so powerful that you could theoretically recreate the LBA world with it. That would take a lot of time and effort though.

Creating Morrowind maps of its own world is hard enough. Making LBA in Morrowind would be harder than creating the actual game

Maybe that's an overstatement though :P

The Elder Scrolls Construction Kit is amazingly easy to use and is incredibly quick to create a large environment in a short space of time.

The only problem is the customization limitations. If fully created the end product would resemble Morrowind more than LBA.

By the way, Morrowind is the ultimate game of all time and deserves huge amounts of recognition.
