Again, you're assuming bad faith instead of considering that perhaps others may simply not perceive your actions the way you intended them.

While it is true that I often go agressive on others, if you look closely, you will see that in every one of those conversations, I always start out nicely. Everybody had the chance to proceed with a friendly, civil conversation. The agressive reaction is always a direct response to being provoked with insanity. Don't believe me? Go and re-read each of those threads from the start. If you read the sequence of events in your mind without any bias to either sides, you will realise that.

At least in the case of my thread, you did start friendly and civil, yes, but you mixed your core point with the criticism of the contents of my specuation, which is was caused me to fail to get your core point and respond the wrong way.


And you then let your emotions take the best of you instead of thinking "Maybe he hasn't got my core point so I should make it clearer for him or at least ask for confirmation if he got it?". Ie. you made no effort to try to actually understand why I was responding the way I was responding, you just assumed the worst. And honestly, so did I.

No, what I said was that on almost every forum I set foot onto, something ends up happening, not necessarily involving me. For example, I never had any problems on the Ring Forum, on WordReference, or on Encyclopedia Titanica, but the Ring Forum, by virtue of being on EZ-Board at the time, suffered from the Great EZ-Board Hack of spring 2005, WordReference had its fair share of wackos pushing linguistic nonsense, and Encyclopedia Titanica had parts of its userbase leave because of a fight between Parks Stephenson (yes, the guy who recently appeared on the BBC for their recent news about the Titanic) and Captain L. Marmaduke Collins, from what I remember.


Aside from this forum, I only had problems on two other forums:
- On BetaArchive, I was dragged into a pre-existing conflict and then made to look like I had started it even though it started on the forum's predecessor (OSBetaArchive) before I even knew of it, and then endured attacks over it until 2014 (that's 6-7 years of crap), while I did do my fair share of twattery, I was made to be much worse than I in fact was;
- On Musume-Central, I was permanently banned from their IRC channel for, wait for it, protecting it from a rival group and holding it until the administrator took over it, to prevent said rival group from taking over it again, for which me and some others were told to "get out of the channel or we're going to be banned", so we did, then we came back after he took the channel, then he forgot his own forum account's password, and was waiting for a moderator to change it for him because he was, by his own admission, too lazy to change it himself using SQL. So I pointed out he was a hypocrite because had previously lectured me not to be lazy and do things myself instead of having others do them for me, and that evidently triggered him. Later on, I found out that the forum completely collapsed due to his attitude and pretty much everyone was complaining about him on a Facebook group.


That last one still hurts me to this day because it happened at the same Anime-Planet.com was undergoing a revolt so we had a narrow view of opportunity to get our anime and idols forum going, but because the guy I asked to create the themes for my forums, was picky and refused to just do it MyBB (or phpBB) and normal CMS, we ended up losing that window of opportunity.

It’s true that I sometimes enjoy that and if that ever makes anyone uncomfortable please let me know. Though this time my intention was more to say it’s relatable that he says something and then doesn’t follow through with it, because we all do that from time to time.

Generally I don't block people either, except one or two guys who would ring me up periodically to ask for money...(Of course they never tell you they owe money to drug dealers; it's always to "pay bills" or "pay the rent", and you don't hear from these characters for years and suddenly they're like "hey!" and then disappear again when you say "no".)

Sometimes, there are posts that depress me, sometimes, there are posts that anger me, and things I would handle differently, but eh. It's their place, and I'm grateful I can be here ^^
