LBA1 patch + LBA1 demo = ???

I mentioned this in my introductory newbie post in the General forum, but maybe it belongs here instead.

I want to get LBA1 up and running on my Win2k/GeForce 2 machine, but before hunting down a full copy I wanted to see whether there was any chance for success. I got the LBA1 demo and the LBA1 patch and am still having problems getting the VESA mode to work.

Does anyone know whether the patch should work properly on the demo? Should I just go straight to trying to get the full version to work?

I don't believe the patch has support for the demo of LBA1. It should work with any version of the full game though, so better try that.

Also, the demo is really short and hardly worth playing (more or less only the escape from the Citadel).

Or cdaccess.

Or you could always get the LBA ISO from the person of which the nickname starts with a W and finishes with an O and that I'm not saying all of it for his own safety...

You don't have to say that in every thread about LBA1.

Well, the fact that Adeline is on a list of GBA developers gives more then a little bit of hope.

Hm, but there's also this talk about LBA-GBA as beign a 'sleeping project' etc. I think that Adeline will release their conversion of Motocross first as Delphine would like that.

Maybe they could just license the Tony Hawk engine to speed things along.

Tony Hawk GBA really has very similar gfx to LBA (isometric backgrounds and poly characters). But of course, anything we can get would be great!

Indeed.
The THPS3 engine looks amazing, and is more then suffient for LBA graphics.
LBA should be even better then that though, Tony Hawks is a fast paced game with 100's of animations.
LBA dosn't need the speed, so they should be able to have even more detail on the graphics and charecters

Even LBA2 might be possible one day,
4x4 Offroaders demostrates a 3D voxal engine that is very impressive.
Meanwhile, the Raylight polgon engine is probably the most impressive 3D GBA engine yet:

Oh. Thought I'd let people know. The patch _does_ seem to work for the demo. It works at least as well as the full version on my machine (which is to say it randomly crashes every now and then). Just thought I'd update.
