Exclamation New project: LBA File Information

Little Big Adventure File Information

Brief: The project is a "HTML Help" document that contains LBA file information. The document currently only includes packages content, and that too is still mostly incomplete.
The goal of the project is to have all information possible about the LBA files.

-------

Ok then, what we have so far:
Not much yet. We have package content listing of these files (currently only for LBA1):
ANIM.HQR - All LBA1 animations - By ChaosFish
BODY.HQR - All LBA1 models - By Telanis
RESS.HQR - Images and the LBA font - By El Muerte
SAMPLES.HQR - Sound samples - By El Muerte
TEXT.HQR - All LBA1 texts - By El Muerte
and all of the LBA1 VOX files - By ChaosFish

I still need to add a few content listings made by El Muerte.

Does anybody want to help?

files of lba, but why the "by" someone? isnt it in the directory of lba?

thankyou for your comprehension...

In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

This is a great idea, building up lists of resources will help people trying to mod LBA.

Great!
That's exactly what I was asking for in the other thread. I thought it would take months, and here it is! Thanks.
Now let's think what we can do with all this... Write a new adventure, new dialogues, record new voices, choose another character than Twinsen with his own animations.
A new game!

Be sure to check out the help sections of LBADeCOMP (inside the program), a lot has already been documented in there!
[edit] oh, I think you already did, n/m :>
btw, I once wrote a little data resources guide for Grandia 2 (pc). I don't think I ever actually published it somewhere.

A little contribution for the Ress.hqr file:
  • Entries 7,9,10,11,30 and 31: It's for holomap. Maybe things like holomap texture, the red arrow model.

Edit: Now with sure...
  • Entrie 10: Holomap Twinsen model
  • Entrie 11: Holomap Arrow model
  • Entrie 12: Twinsen On Top of Holomap Arrow model
  • Entrie 30: Holomap Point Location model

Edit 2:
More things:
  • Entrie 32: Holomap Ferrybot model
  • Entrie 34: Holomap Motorbike model
  • Entrie 36: Holomap Car w/Twinsen model
  • Entrie 38: Holomap Fishing Boat model
  • Entrie 40: Holomap Catamaram model
  • Entrie 42: Holomap Hover Craft model
  • Entrie 44: Holomap Dino-Fly with Twinsen model
  • Entrie 46: Holomap Army Boat (Twinsen & Rebels) model
  • Entrie 48: Holomap Hamalayi Transposter model - (I don't know the name)

The entries between this entries can be the model texture...

Outside holomap:
  • Entrie 22: Game Over model
  • Entrie 24: File with the movies informations

I'm sawing some parts of Yaz0r's code and see a function that opens the first files I write (entries 9,10,11,30 and 31). I wasn't satisfy because I didn't have certains about that, so I extract all this files and see what they have in common.
The 3D models have the value 0x03 in the first byte that I saw in the body.hqr. And I saw that some entries of Ress.hqr have the same first byte. I replace this ress entries with the body entries and see the models.

I've got the first hundred LBA2 vox file listings. Im a bit confused about how theyr organised tho: I found
"A-Ha! a sign from sendel! Theyre venerated by all the wizards"
as entry en_000 070, which sould be a citadel island thing. But that quote is definately from white leaf desert

Anybody noticed my complete listing for the LBA 2 BODY.HQR file? You have it on the 'Here are your files' thread.

I made a little modification in the LBA Package Editor. This program now knows the 3D models in l3d extensions.

Here's the file

If I change something I'll put the file again.

Edit: New file was update. I add the LBA Animation file in ani extension.
Also change the version to LBA Package Editor - v0.002a - not official

I will contact Zink to see if he want this modifications...

How did you make your listing of the body.hqr file?

Did it take you hours like me, or did you use some sort of file veiwer?

post back soon
