If you're into close combat, things should be pretty easy once you get that sword in Hong Kong.
When you're relying on lower quality weapons, you can't play the game thoroughly, since you might encounter an enemy, and you'd want to keep your health as high as possible when playing like this.

About the sword in Hong Kong: Well, then I'd be killing them, wouldn't it?

I've been playing on my DS for most of the time recently, it's the only thing I currently still have time for. Mega Man ZX Advent is pretty decent.

Well you can always try and reload if you need to. Even though I didn't try to avoid killing people, I mostly tried sneaking for the hell of it and only then killed everybody.

About the sword: Oh right, oops. I was thinking at the same time about the sword from MGS2 that has a tranquilizing mode (wtf)

Left 4 Dead - Hmm. I dunno, this game doesn't really speak to me. It's all action, and there's no adventure. I need a story to keep me going. Simply "you're in an infested town, kill zombies on your way out" doesn't cut it for me. ...bored of this.

I meant like a DS/Wii in terms of ;
Quote:
play a game of removem for a few minutes while Im waiting for something or the other is convinient and pleasing, and I would hope that some high callibur games are made for mobile platforms as a result of that convinience.

Oh, and the touch screen and orientation sensitivity of iphones and their likes can make for some interisting gameplay.
Obviously not "like" in terms of non-gaming funcationality.
But the DS is wonderfull for jump in/out gameplay, especialy with its "standby when closed", near instant loading, and fairly long battary life. Likewise, touchscreen and orentation sensing for the ds/wii makes for interesting gameplay. (Soul Bubbles on DS, Eleedees on Wii etc.).

they are big and bulky,
I think youd be very hard pushed to claim that. A DSlite is only slightly longer then an iPhone. Its a bit thicker, but hardly bulky.

Quote:
need cartridges etc...
That I totaly agree with though.
The new DSi, like the iPhone supports downloading apps/games straight to the phone, but it remains to be seen how well this works or what the selection is like.
I suspect its Nintendo just testing the water so when next generation finaly comes around they might switch to digital distribution completely. I dought they will fully embrace their download system just yet.

(The DSi also supports playing MP3's etc, allthough, it really isnt much bother to get a cheap flash-card converter for a normal DS/DSlite and use something like Moonshell to play just about any audio file you want.)

RE5 owns! Finished it a few days ago...
I'm really impressed of the AI partner, getting ammos, giving it to you if you're in need, searching for items in crates and such... great game to play! The bosses are damn fun to kill!

Not sure Id ever trust an AI charecter to give me stuff in a game with finite resource's.
(that is, if its anything like 4...or, indeed, most horror games...rationing your health an ammo is important)

I heard RE5 is plenty of ammo to do what you want. It's not exactly a 'survival horror' title anymore.

Just a nice third person shooter.

yeah, a lot more of ammos than RE4...in RE4 you always felt like "ammo, i need ammo, can't spare shotgun bullets like this, let's use the handgun", in RE5 there are more ammunitions, and any time you die you can buy new stuff for you and your partner. (upgrading the weapon's magazine u get a new full magazine)

yes, but the sellers were always very far from the other... while in this one you can buy new magazines every time you die (and have the money!)

Last game I completed was LBA2, finished today! Before that it was Gears of War 2 on Xbox360 I think, great game by the way. Apart from that, it's mostly Football Manager going on here, especially the 2006 version.

Compared to iPhone, I'd also call the DS lite bulky. DS lite is about twice the thickness. In fact, iPhone is barely bigger than 3 standard GBA slot cartridges laid in a row.

Soul Bubbles -Playing it slowly. Lovely game.

umm..its way bigger then that.
You mean GB carts? Because GBA carts arnt long at all.
3 of them next to eachother is still much smaller then, say, a single playing card.
And if you did mean GBA carts, but laying them the other way, that cant be right either because even the DSphat is only 2.5 of them wide.

Getting around to play some PS2 I never got to play before.
Started Okami and the unskippable intro was so long I was too bored when the actual gameplay started.
Then I played Shadow of the Colossus and defeated the first one, that's pretty nice so far (=15 minutes).

Other games I have around and should try out: Final Fantasy XII and Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition.

Okami's storytelling is just terrible, but stick with it because the gameplay is really nice.
Probably harder on the PS2, but that might be as good thing as the Wii version is too easy.
