Made some more progress on Rise of the Dragon. Warehouse is up in smoke and Johnny Qwong is dead, but now Bahumat's after me...

Also played a bit of Codename ICEMAN, but after half an hour of trying to pilot the goddamn sub (WITH the manual) I gave up on it.

Settlers 2 10th an. ed.
An awesome remake of the original. It's pretty much the original with full 3d graphics. The original is barely playable and this one is simply amazing.

I tried the demo a while ago. I still need to get this some time, it's really good. The original is great aswell though. Best Settlers ever.

Anyway, just finished Zelda 2! \o/ I finished all Zelda games now. At the end of Zelda 2 the game saves and when you continue your game you start over but with all magic and you're the same level as when you finished the game. So I might try finishing it again like this, because it'll be easy .

Been downloading and playing a bunch of freeware games over the course of today, namely:

Knytt
Guardian of Paradise
Torus Trooper
The Cleaner

All very much worth checking out, particularly Knytt and The Cleaner.

hmz..doesn't it make the game harder as well?
Zelda2 is the only one I haven't completed either, so I don't know.

But Nintendo has done the "harder game after completing it" thing before.
(Mario Land, for instance).

I'm not saying WW is the best Zelda game I ever played, I just liked it better than TP. I think the characters of WW had more characteristics and weren't just generic NPCs like you could see walking around in Hyrule town which don't even talk to you like you already stated.
Yes, but those that do talk to you are wonderfully done.
Also stuff like the crazy milo mart is just plan fun.

I hardly think the characters were more generic in TP,in fact, it had some of the best "main" NCP dialogue and characterisation of any Zelda game.
Not to mention some of the funniest scenes. (eg. The postman actualy saying the found-new-item sound effect )

It just had a lot of random people wondering around as well.

Of course, no denigning TWW had some great scenes too.
("SPLLLLISSSSHHHhhhh" )

But TP just had more of them, more of everything.

Also, I posted that VG cats thing myself a few times.
Tis great obe indeed.
While TP does have certainly have Ott bloom, personally I think it looks wonderful for a magical environment, and drop-dead gorgeous at night.
Sure, it isn't cell shaded, but it certainly isn't realistic or brown either!

I think the brown they were more refering too the Xbox360 games that tend too have ovely dull colour pallets for realism.

Sunshine secret levels hard?
I'm currently playing Super Mario Bros. 1 & 2(jp), that's what's "hard".
If you mean "2" as in LostLevels, then yes, thats certainly harder.
Mario1 isnt that hard, however.

Advanced Wars DS ~ Could it be my interesting is fading finely? It taken a long while, but I arnt playing this so much now. Maybe go back too it in a few weeks.

Simon the Sorcerer 1 ~First time I played it, fantastic little P&C, stunningly good artwork too.

Looked it up and it doesn't get any harder. It's not like in Zelda1 where you get a totally different game (I still need to beat that second run sometime).
You really should consider beating it sometime though. If you really take the time for it to talk to all the characters and level and stuff it's not even that hard. The first 2 levels are probably the hardest. After that you get some nice moves like that downstab like you can see in my avatar. That one has saved my life so many times. It's also great to bounce over enemies without getting hurt. Zelda2 really became one of my favourite Zelda games now.

Yeah Milo Mart was fun. Never really got to use that armor you could buy there though. I always ran out of rupies way too fast. That thing sucks them up.

I was just a little disapointed that to me it wasn't really the OoT killer I was hoping for. Zelda and Ganon only appeared in the game very briefly in the end. And even though the dungeons were great, the boss fights were way too easy. The only boss that took me 2 tries was that fish boss in the third dungeon. I would love to see just another old fashioned Zelda game with Link Ganon and Zelda. None of those new added characters like Vaati or Zant or Midna or whatever. Just some old school basic Zelda in 3D would be nice again .

Yes, I mean "2(jp)" as "2 (japanese version)", say LostLevels. And Mario1 is hard enough too, I'm in World 7.

Progress on Mario RPG, but slightly. There's some problem which doesn't let me continue. Had to "hack" the emulator earlier.

AAAaaa.
Why doesn't anyone see this? Zelda games are the least original games around, and they all hide behind the label of being "Zelda" as an excuse for bringing the same stuff over and over again. When you get a new weapon in TP, it's not like "Woot! A cool new item", but "*yawn* look, even that made it back in".

Even Nintendo noticed that they can't continue like that forever, the next Zelda game for the Wii will have a quite different style, afaik.

TP is actually good because creating actual characters, not boring stock characters who are the same but different. Link himself is one of the least characterized guys in the game. He doesn't add to the story.

Midna is what's a real character.

I've just got the Master Sword. It looks a bit silly on Link's back as it is too long.

I have too agree.
I want my Zelda's too have new charecters, new storys, and unexpected things.
TP delivered for me big time
Also, while it reused a fair number of items, it reused a lot less then previous games did, so I was happy there too. (always thought it was cheap in TWW when you got a hockshot AND the grapple rope...too similar, its like they felt they had too have the hock shot)

The only disappoints were when old things showed up again, in fact

For the next game, I think the big difference is obviously going too be how they use the Wiimote.
Clearly, everyone wants "true" sword fighting, so they will probably work hard too get that right.
But also I imagine they will try too have game play elements that use the wiimotes precision and try too have a higher interaction with the physical world of the game. Most of the best Zelda puzzles are "physics-based", so I see that being expanded rather then changed.

Personally, I'm hoping if you have manual sword control you can do non-combat things with it too.
eg. Cutting things up to use.
Or carving magical runes to cast spells
(eg, carve a gateway into a wall and it turns into a portal).

I would hope Nintendo build the next game apon the Twilight Princess engine. (which itself is TWW based, despite the graphics).
TP's engine seems superb, imo, and should let them concentrate on adding new things rather then redoing the basics.
Id like too keep a realistic shading for the next game, but have more "unreal" looking special effects.
The contrast should be interesting.
(eg, imagine having TP's graphics and then having the colours sucked out of it by a magical rod?
Or having some charecters looking like oilpaintings against a realistic background?
Mixed styles can look amazing, imo)

Quote:

Well, to be honest, they shouldnt change that.
Link should be a "blank" as he is effective, you.

Quote:

Yes, but I found that was also the case with TWW.
And,when I was replaying Ocarina, that too.

Nintendo really need too do a "hard" mode for the next game.
I know they cant really do harder puzzles, but at least harder battles and fighting for oldschool players needing a challange

Quote:

Yeah, but its good it use's them up fast else it would be far too easy.
I used it mostly during the last boss fight, which was pretty fun

Also, Im going too use it on the savage dungoen thingy.
After all, you might not get health down there, but you DO get money!

Yup, its already on my compact flash ready too play
(playing Scumm games on my DS)

You got a point for Link.

Also recently played:
Mario Party 7 ~ Best Mario Party since Party 2. (don't know 6 yet however) Still not perfect, but it's quite good.
NFS U2 ~got this as a bundle with the gamecube, never looked into it really. The graphics on the cube are a bit watery, and I'm not too good in driving either. I guess I won't play it too often.

You level up by finding aliens.
Its very very hard to get your first lvl, mind.
Got nice graphics however.

yes, they do.
Basicaly, a lot of drugs work more or less by there very shape and how they bind.
Computers can, on mass, be used too brute force all possible combinations of shapes between various substances and their effects on other substances. (as well as all their potential mutations, and future mutations due to evolution)

While it wont give definitive results, it will give drug researchers a "priority list" so they can look into the most likely options first.

I don't think that progress quest consumes very many CPU cycles, so it doesn't much matter if it only uses idle ones or not. It certainly doesn't use up all available cycles.

Its just good coding practice.
Besides, it will be depressingly ironic if progress quest actually slows down systems more then software that actually do useful things.
(which will be the case if it doesn't use idle time, whereas @Home stuff does)

Process priority scheduling has not much to do with CPU time consumption, those distributed computing this will make sure your CPU is always very active. They are bad for your energy bill and the environment

Has quite a lot too do with *noticeable* CPU consumption, and thats what matters to most users.

Also, the effect on your energy bill wont be that great. Not unless it prevents your pc going too standby.
If your pc is on anyway and your doing web browsing or word processing, a typical PC doesn't under clock itself for greater power efficiency.
(Most laptops these days can, however, so purhapes more desktops should do that)
