Still playing Zelda, and still the game doesn't seem to come to an end yet.
Spoiler:
Just defeated madman Zanto.
And Midna's hair is becoming quite deadly.

After a struggle with the game's German translation, the possible English counterparts of the words and the name of the game, I finally noticed who the fuck it is about.
Spoiler:
The correct translation of "Twilight" in German would be Zwielicht. However, the word is almost completely not used, and hence lacks any definition. Twilight Realm was translated into Schattenwelt ("shadow world"). The sages call Midna the "Prinzessin des Dämmerlichts". (=princess of the dusk). Zanto calls her "Königin der Schatten" (=queen of the shadows). The unnoticable difference between a princess and a queen aside, I'm wondering how I was supposed to know that she is the Twilight Princess, and not Zelda, who comes to thought first with the intriguing name of the game.
Those translations... gee.

Of course, but you should have got it by the time you've completed that broken mirror. And I only noticed it after defeating Zanto.

I've been playing Half-Life: Opposing Force for the past few weeks (just about half an hour every few days...)
It just doesn't have the same feel as the original HL, and obviously isn't as good as HL2.

It's probably because it was made by a completely different company, in fact Valve consider Opfor not apart of the official Half-Life universe.

Vavle actually consider Opposing Force and Blue Shift as canon, and as you put it, apart of the official Half-Life universe. However, they say that key parts in the plots of both expansions are not at all what they envisioned themselves to be, and how they would've made them, if they'd made them at all. But they're stuck with it.

They prefer that people only think of Half-Life, the first and the second game, when thinking about Half-Life, since those are the two games they made and can assure teh solidness within the canon.

I actually love Opposing Force. It's very nicely done, especially regarding how little help Gearbox got from Valve whilst making it. Blue Shift is not that good though. It's short and has a boring story which simply distracts oneself too much from Half-Life canon. Really, you don't play the Barney in Blue Shift, no matter what Gearbox wants you to think.

The reason being Blue Shift was so short was because it was originally a mini mod packed with the DreamCast version of Half-Life. Hence why some copys of Blue Shift were packed along side with Opposing Force, though I think some copys of Blue Shift were sold separately?

I'm pretty sure Blue Shift was available separately.

Blue Shift was indeed sold separately, though it might've been bundled with Opposing Force at some point or other. I wouldn't know.

Yes indeed, that was the reason it was so short and that it had the new 'high-def' models. I think they should've released Half-Life to Dreamcast instead of dropping it and going PC. It was pretty much finished, as far as I could tell from the version I've got.

There's Half Life Generations which includes OF and BS.
I believe that's Generations 3, there are also other versions, I have one that's Half Life GOTY, OF and Counter Strike Retail.

Oh yes, it's indeed Half-Life Generation 3 which includes BlueShift. I've got it myself infact.

I didn't feel it was worth mentioning though because it's rather bundled together with the original Half-Life as well as Opposing Force. I thought haz0r was implying that it was solely bundled with Opposing Force. That, I have no clue of.

Nevertheless, I've actually replayed Half-Life 2 just recently. It's pretty darn good, though not as good as the first one. It feels like Half-Life stepping out into the big outdoors, which is both a good and a bad thing.
It feels a bit too focused on seemingly endless levels of driving a hovercraft/buggy. Once you peel those parts off, the game is rather short.

I especially like the part when you arrive to Black Mesa East and venture further along, onto Ravenholm. In my opinion, these parts feel more like the first Half-Life than any other part of the game.
That said, my favourite part probably has to be where you have to stay away from the sand in order to keep the Antlions at bay.
All in all, definetly worthy successor to Half-Life.

While we're talking about Half-Life, check out the upcoming mod for Half-Life 2, Black Mesa. It's basically a remake of Half-Life for the Source Engine. Quite astonishing stuff, really. This will probably beat the hell out of Half-Life 2 and leave me satisfied for all that is Half-Life, through all eternity.
That is what I hope, atleast.
