It feels a bit too focused on seemingly endless levels of driving a hovercraft/buggy. Once you peel those parts off, the game is rather short.

I especially like the part when you arrive to Black Mesa East and venture further along, onto Ravenholm. In my opinion, these parts feel more like the first Half-Life than any other part of the game.
That said, my favourite part probably has to be where you have to stay away from the sand in order to keep the Antlions at bay.
All in all, definetly worthy successor to Half-Life.

While we're talking about Half-Life, check out the upcoming mod for Half-Life 2, Black Mesa. It's basically a remake of Half-Life for the Source Engine. Quite astonishing stuff, really. This will probably beat the hell out of Half-Life 2 and leave me satisfied for all that is Half-Life, through all eternity.
That is what I hope, atleast.
Heh, your two favorite levels are my least favorite.
I'm currently still replaying HL2, right now at Follow Freeman, and I found Ravenholm to be too bothersome with those annoying headcrabs and spiders, the lack of "proper" action and overall darkness.
The antlions were also a pain, it was just carrying objects to stand on and it got boring after like 5 steps.

I think the Water Hazard and Nova Prospekt levels are the best, they provide action and thrills.

Anyway I actually didn't particularly like the original Half Life but I really like Half Life 2, I like open environments and the setting is more appealing to me than some scientific complex gone bad.

About Black Mesa, I'm pretty sure it's out already for ages, and it's called Half Life Source on Steam if I recall correctly. It's also sold on the modern Half Life bundles together with Episode 1.

Your least two favourites? Oh, I'd be damned. Infact that was the case for me when I played it for the first time... I found Ravenholm utterly annoying. But now, for some reason, when I replayed it, I fell in love with it.

I like the puzzely feeling in the Antlion part. In the original Half-Life there were alot of puzzly things that you had to do to get around things. Half-Life 2 had considerably less of that, but this physics puzzly thing made up for it.
I just love physics puzzles... and half-life1 puzzles!

I'd have to agree about Nova Prospekt. Infact, I haven't replayed it entirely yet, so I'd have to see what I think about Nova Prospekt when I do. But it was definetly one of the very good parts.

The setting of Half-Life 2 really reminds me of some post-apocalyptic thing, and I love post-apocalyptic things. Somehow, Half-Life 2 and the first one can't really be compared, especially since the setting is so different. HL2 is sortof an evolved version of Half-Life.

Oh no, that's where you're utterly wrong, I'm afraid. Half-Life Source is not a remake. They've simply thrown in the original game in the new engine, and, well, that's about it. It was such an incredible disappointment.
Now, Black Mesa seems wonderful. It's an complete remake. It will look and feel like Half-Life would've felt if it was made now, pretty much. The levels are extremely detailed, compared to Half-Life. It won't be out for the next couple of months or so, probably longer. But heck, it's worth waiting for, I believe.

You should check out their trailer and you'll notice the big difference. Or, you could check out these screenshots:

Teh doubel post. Exkuse me, I could't wait!!

Holy homosexual sasquatches severely sodomizing my artifically grown tentacles!

Sam & Max are back!

Yes. They're back, and they're as hilarious as ever... and, they've proven a point which has been demanding to be proven for a long time. It's actually possible to convert an old Lucasarts point-and-click adventure game to an 'modernized' 3d environment, and keep your soul at the same time!

They've done a very good job with updating the franchise and adapting it into the new millenia. Max is as outrageous as ever, and Sam... well, Sam is definitely Sam. No doubt about it.

I bought the first season a while ago and have spent quite some time playing it. I was a bit sceptical at first, especially to its episodic nature, but I think it's an excellent concept as well as the execution of it. The episodes aren't that long, I'll give you that. But the sheer amount of quality humour and unexpected events therein more than make up for it.
When viewed together, as a whole game (read: the last episode is yet to be released at this point), it stands very well on its own. As well as Sam & Max: Hit the Road, infact. Definetly. And the total cost for season one is what to be expected of any game these days.

One part which I find quite annoying is unfortunately that you can't actually see beforehand exactly what you're about to say to people in the dialogue system. It displays only short summaries(and the lack thereof) of the conversation in which you're about to be partaking in, leaving one only to guess what you're really about to say. However, this is quickly compensated by the quality of the voice acting.
The voices! Yes! They're excellent. Sam & Max really do sound and feel like Sam & Max should. As for all the other characters, they're well developed. Very well developed. Just what I'd ask of a good adventure game.

The plot is hilarious and unpredictable, in true Sam & Max spirit, and at the end of each episode you'll find yourself grappling the monitor, squealing for more. More! I know I did.

I sincerly hope they'll make a commercial success, all in all(which seems to be the case), so that they'll make yet another season. Perhaps another one after that as well.

Oh, the lovelyness.

If you're into point-and-clickness, Sam & Max or simply adventure games, try this. It tastes excellent together with a glass of milk.

I have it on CD actually.
You could probably get it on any big torrent site though.
I don't think you can get it on any abandonware site.

FINALLY managed to make some more progress on Metroid Prime yesterday. Gah! How could I be so stupid? Took me 2 weeks and a quick trip to GameFAQs to figure out I had to blow up the damn grate in Phendrana Drifts. Oh well. Got the Boost Ball and Space Jump Boots now

I remember playing Croc on the PS1 once upon a time, it was pretty cute, but took me a while to get used to the movement (when you press right you don't walk right, you rotate clockwise. Felt tricky after playing lots of Crash Bandicoot).

Making plenty of progress on Metroid Prime now that I'm past that "tricky" bit. Got the Thermal Visor, but got my ass handed to me by the big rock monster boss.

Also been playing Zelda Ocarina of Time on Virtual Console since yesterday. Great game; so far I've managed to get to Dodongo's Cave.

Just finished Half Life 2.
The Citadel is so awesome, especially visually, and the supercharged gravity gun is great.

Anyway I need a new game now.
Perhaps I'll play Out of this World properly, or maybe get back to FFVII and finish it.
Oh right, I forgot there's Episode 1.
