Finished MGS Twin Snakes just now (with Meryl surviving at the end). Despite the lacking voice acting and the sometimes over the top cutscenes, it was plenty entertaining, though definitely not superior to the original.

Next up, finishing the game with Meryl not surviving.

Red Alert.
After trying to get it to work on The First Decade I decided to just use the original game which I also own and just play it on my win98 pc without all the expansions. Damn you EA for making such a crappy pack and then not even bothering to fix the stuff.

Started playing Paper Mario 2 for a while again, trying to finally finish the game, but like last time and with all RPGs lately I get bored after a while and stop playing. Too bad they're the kind of games you have to play all over again once you stopped playing for a while to be able to get into the story again.

Also got Final Fantasy 5 and 6 for GBA. Haven't played 5 yet. Played 6 for quite a while but kind of got bored with it as well. Also, I missed some bestiary entries so I'm probably going to start over sometime anyway to get those. I'd hate levelling all my characters and stuff when I'm going to start over anyway.

Also got Runaway: A Road Adventure. Nice little point & click adventure. Not too hard, not too easy. No pixel-hunting like games like Monkey Island 2 or Simon the Sorcerer (don't get me wrong, I love those games but it as way too hard to identify stuff sometimes). If you're into adventures and you see it for cheap somewhere, get it.

I played that recently. I wasn't greatly into it, but then I didn't get very far.

There was a bit towards the end of the game that I looked for an object, and a walkthrough told where where it is, and I still couldn't find it.

I'm currently playing Penumbra: Overture.

It's a very good horror survival game. I like. The physics engine and the unique interface are very cool, among all its other features.

I recently finished The Secret of Monkey Island.
Fun game, although a bit short.
Currently I'm playing Monkey Island 2. Nice, but not as nice as the first one (a bit boring, at parts). Also, I don't like Guybrush's look in that game.
I'm planning on playing the entire series.

You are kidding, right...? I mean, I thought I'm like the last person in the world to play it (finished everything about 2 years ago)

Did you finish them without a FAQ/walkthrough? If so I salute you sir. Especially if you manage to finish MI2 without one.

I remember you guys recommending me to play Grim Fandango, so I said "Ok, I try it out". And I still envy you for enlightening me. So I have to play this Monkey Island.

Well, I played MI3 a long time ago.
I started playing the first game a while ago, but didn't have the time to finish it (actually, I hardly had the time to start it).
I used the walkthrough once in MI1, because I couldn't find the fort on monkey island (stupid pixel hunting, I could hardly even find the fort after checking out the walkthrough).
I didn't need to use a walkthrough in the second game (yet...).

Wow, I can't believe there are actually people who are able to finish adventure games without a FAQ.. I have never been able to finish any without. Probably also because I really don't have the patience to go and try everything just to be able to progress a little. It's not like an action game in which it depends on your skills whether you progress or not. My attention-span just isn't long enough for adventures I guess. I still really like them but if I dont know what to do anymore either I look it up in a FAQ or stop playing.

Discworld was nigh on impossible without the FAQ:

Drink reverse wine and go back in time so you're passed out drunk the night before you drank the wine then make a butterfly flap its wings near a lamp therby causing rain on the following day so a monk will tka eoff his robes so you can disguise yourself to get in a cave! I mean WTF!

I completed it without an FAQ
Twisted logic, but still logic.
It tells you its a weather/quantom butterfly or something.
Normaly theres clues if you examine objects.

Mi2 I needed a little help on back when I did it.
Manic Mansion I needed a lot of help. (specificaly, to know what charecters to pick).

Yeah Day of the Tentacle is hard like that as well. Having to switch character and send items from one to the other person. I mean, if you're stuck who has the patience to go send all your items to each person and try using it on everything possible in every scene just so you get ahead?

I should try MI2 again. I finished it once with a FAQ but I have no idea on everything I should do anymore. I hate pixel hunting in those games. I remember when I was young my whole family would play Simon the Sorcerer and even then we couldn't finish it. Even when we ordered the hint book for it. Some stuff in it is just too hard, there are a lot of scenes in which you can't do anything like forest scenes, so when you're in a big snow scene and there's this small rock of like 5 pixels, how would you know you can pick it up? It's stuff like that which anoys me and makes me use a FAQ.

my laptop is in repair; all I have atm is my old desktop pc, a dodgy keyboard, and a TV so i can't even see what i've typed very clearly.

I thought day of the tenticle was one of the easier p&c games

I'd like to see if anyone can complete Return to Ringworld without a guide. (fantastic point and click adventure btw)

Abomination: The Nemesis Project. Fun game, but gets really repetitive. Although multiplayer support (which doesn't seem to work seeing as Mplayer is dead) would score some good points.

I have TFD, but I haven't used it in awhile, I remember there being patches EA released for it? BTW do you play RA online?
