Twinsen LBA 1 & 2 Cover Art Scans

Hi!

It's actually been YEARS since I've been on this forum. I'm so happy to see that it's still alive and well. LBA is my favourite game, as I'm sure it is for many of you guys too.

I was just wondering whether it was possible to get a hold of any high resolution box art scans if any of you guys still have the actual physical games. I would love to get one printed and put up in my bedroom. The highest resolution scans I've found are the ones I've attached. The other images are pretty sweet too. I doubt there are higher res versions out there though.

Many thanks!

I do not have those covers. At the time I played LBA2 in pirated version that came in a CD-Mix. Then when I got it original along with the 1st part was already in GOG.

Now that I think I would have liked to have originals these games in their day in physical and not digital. Be able to have your instruction manual, your box and stuff.

I remember my dad buying LBA1 from a local computer store all the way back in 1995 or something. Such a great game. I was so excited when we got a PC gaming magazine with the LBA2 demo included on a CD sampler. I own both games on CD but I don't have the actual boxes for either of them. I just bought the first game boxed on eBay now

I presume you are making the scans yourself now? And if so, it would be great if you could share them.

Haha, yeah. Working on getting my hands on the second game too. I found someone's really high res scan online of the cover art for the second game but it's a German cropped version. Any idea what the best way to scan would be without having to warp the boxes at all? I'd rather not cause any damage if I can.

I attempted to do a simple upscale on these other images. I thought they came out alright. I might Displate a couple of them. I had to convert to JPEG and compress to upload them on the forum though:

I didn't realize some of those were so high-definition considering the games are quite old nowadays, unless Fred still has access to the original models.

Edit: I see now... They've just been upscaled and have had bilinear filtering, as well as other processes to make them look "higher". I was really excited for a second there...
Come to think of it, MevX mentions it anyways. I messed up that one - didn't pay attention.

Thanks MevX! I thought so too, along with the title screen.

Haha, sorry to get your hopes up MrQuetch. Not bad for an upscale in my opinion though. Maybe Fred does have access to the originals. Would be cool to get high res renders of them.

Actually, they're good enough. In fact, if it's all we can get then it's feasible. They look really good for what they are.

Thanks MrQuetch. Yeah. I think they'll come out nicely as small posters or Displates.

I've ordered the old school big box PC versions of both LBA1 and LBA2 now. Just waiting for them to arrive so I can make some high resolution scans too.

Well I've gotten the big boxes for both games and created scans for both of them. I did what I could to clean up any little bits of damage to the images. The second one was a lot cleaner than the first. Where do you guys recommend I upload these?

The original scans looks crazy good! Now even I'm tempted to use them as a poster..

Very awesome. Thanks for making these available.

Any chance we can get to see how it looks in-person via photo?

Heey. Sorry. Been on holiday. Didn't have a chance to take photos. This is with and without flash. Probably can't tell from these but they do look great. I can take close ups if you want me to.

Fantastic! Seems to be of great quality and have a nice texture to them, telling from the pictures. The first one especially looks amazing. Damn, now I want a set of these myself as well.
