We must work hard to keep our society consistent! Reforms are always bad!

So how about telling that to your fellow christians instead of me?
If it is ok to do it with only one person, then what's wrong with pre-marital sex?

And about eating pork at home, you can't comapre barging into someone's home and eating pork (which personally I couldn't care less) again posting a link on a website with at least 3 religions in it, on the a monitor versus being physically in someone's house.
Actually, what Christianism scandalized was initially not sex, but the nudity itself. And I can tell you, why: nudity was considered to be a sign of beauty. But the Bible states, that no-one can be more beautiful than God, so they made nudity immoral. And, as nudity was suddenly immoral, so was sex (we make sex naked, don't we?). And we all are doing nothing, but confirming the Christian Sex Tabu. So, please, let's stop this tabu. As long as there are pictures, that depic normal sex positions, they should be accepted, but when it starts going into strange ways, like paedophile, sado-maso, etc., then should we censor them.

I'm not even going to start on that. But I'll assume that out of everyone who has made comments about early Christian culture, I am the only one who has actually studied it for 3 years. Do correct me if I'm wrong mind you, then go back and READ what I wrote earlier.

Nudity taboo is part of most cultures decended from Euro-Asian culture, this goes back way before Christianity or even Judaism

- the_angry_: For the Greeks and the Romans, nudity was something normal. And, yes... Christianism took the nudity taboo from the Jewish religion, and the Muslims took it from Christianism. Everything does have historical roots, you're right, but in the history, it was culture-specific, while now, there are even statal lawas, prohibiting publical nudity, and this is a different thing, as it's no more a fact of culture, but a fact of people taking it as an unbreakable dogma. We have to stop this.

I'm sorry Gustav, I see nothing bad in my last post. I'm clearly in the minority though. Boiled carrot? Thats hardly bad. If I wanted to be offensive, I could have said far worse. No need to cry!

As for the stuff Obras is coming up with? What the fuck? I haven't read bigger crap in a long while. Not only does it not make sense, its a load of malarkey, and you KNOW it.

I know they can. Liek I said, I haven't made any since that Russian malarkey, over 1 year and a half ago. I apologised, and haven't said anything since. I may have said a few stupid things since, but not over 90% of my posts are a load of shite. And at least I make sense.

You don't make sense when you write your flameposts to Obrasiliero and some others. I wonder if you are evil or just insecure or if it is something else.

I dont blame you for posting stupid posts, though, everyone can do that, but flameposts is a different thing.

Sorry, but Obrasilo pisses me off. He never has anything constructive to say. He makes no sense, and his points are a load of crap. (the vast majority are. this isn't a sign of disrepect to his views, its him making CLEARLY wrong views.)

I admit though, the flameposts are uncalled for. You certainly have a point there. Those shall cease.

I beleive that there are a number of roots for "modesty" but your orignial statement suggested this all came from Christianinty which is simply false. Your statement quoted here made much more sense

It feels kinda mean though, that Neko's thread was closed. I mean sure, prohibit posting porn, but I propose that we open back his thread and if anybody wants to comment on the original topic there can have a chance. Anybody that wants to have access to the flash can either do a quick search on google or PM him. Because althought it may be true that you can't post erotic flashes, there's nothing that says that you can't discuss them.

You gotta be like the US president. When the Congress says you can't launch a war, find a loophole and send in the boys. ~_-

Actually, what O_Bras said makes som sense, or is at least logical. I've never thought of the nudity taboo though having originated because it dissed the beauty of God. Actually, for many japanese (at least the older generation), nudity is respected and isn't considered a taboo because it represents the creation of god.

*shrugs*

Pandy, this you think because you don't follow the events in the LBA Modifications and Fan Games forums. Do you know how many programs I created? What you see on other forums, is just about 50% of my post, the other half is in those two.

Can we please quit this childish nonsense?

Sure Obras has been an idiot in the recent past, but we've all done outmost stupid things.
Or do you want a replay from the CrazyBee event?

-----

I think another reason why nudity is being frowned upon in Abrahamic religions is because the root religion (Judism), tried about anything to distinguish themselves from the 'barberic' religions around them. This had its good results (no human-sacrefices) but also created the nudity-taboo.
Islam didn't really take it from Christianity. They 'forbid' nudity because Islam says that women have to be protected from the urges of man. And since the majority of the Qu'ran has reflections upon the situation of that time, presumably women were only seen as lust objects. Damning nudity was a part of elevating the status of women.

However, Obras does have a point with the beauty of God. There are a few stories I believe dealing with this.

I do, I read the forums, but I don't post in them, because I have nothing enlightening to say there.
So what that you can make programs? It doesn't make the points you make any more or less retarded...

I also think that while society generally judges men harshly because of their lack of sex, it judges women badly for the presence of it.

The hormones probably play a role as well, but I'd say social conditioning's part in this is bigger.

Yeah, but not in the same proportions as males ? I don't know, I need to document myself on the subject
My assumption is just that survival of the specie is much easier if both partner are as willing to reproduce, so the differences shouldn't be physical.

Of course, there's always the example of the duck to contradict this...
