Ferry Custom Tilesets thread

I need help to create new tile-sets, anybody who helps will be added to credits for Colozen if they're bricks are added.
I sent a message to Zink earlier; last year about having problems creating these new tilesets and I'm not sure where to even begin, without the program being buggy and reporting memory errors.

LBA1&2 have brick libraries; at least LBArchitect does and I use these in order to create grids for LBAnet.
My problem is that LBA has been made so not every brick has each side displayed; most likely a memory saving thing I'm guessing and less work required for the team which is understandable, however it doesn't help me now when I'm trying to use the bricks besides their original purpose.

Simply put I need new bricks and brick libraries with generic textures/colours on them so I can create new areas which don't require me to improvise on using the old tile-sets.
_______

This thread isn't just for Colozen but for everybody creating LBAnet maps or custom mod maps; such as the LBA:Prequel project or LBA:Lupin Island Destiny.

What I need is:
  • Step-by-Step tutorial on how to create bricks; a brick with all 3 sides covered.
  • Step-by-Step tutorial on how to create libraries; kinda like Zeelich Buildings / Twinsun houses.. etc..
  • How to add new libraries to LBAnet or Builder to go into LBAnet.

Also feel free to ask, suggest or provide any bricks or tilesets that you have created. I'm hoping to turn this thread into a resource for all if possible.

From what I know as you have seen Mazaka has already done something like that and succeeded. So you should probably talk to him.

For conversion to the lbanet format it is almost as simple as usual. You just need to add one extra parameter to the batch file when
calling the converter (the name of the custom brick library file)
I can show you how this works once you have a custom library.

I do not recall how I did it, it's been so long. I'll just have to try to do it again some time

Alright, so atleast implementing it into LBAnet won't be a problem.
Its only going to be adding it to builder which may be the challenge, along with creating them from scratch.

I can keep trying to experiment, but I haven't had much luck as 'Factory' program keeps crashing for me saying 'memory error' with some random numbers attached; I'd consider 'Factory' less stable than any of the LBAnet programs from the past.
________

Tilesets I need to create are:
  • Urban streets (Fairly futuristic style city)
  • Space Platform (including space tiles and asteroids)
  • Colobee City (based off Mosquibees tileset)
  • Mystic Island (based off the inside of 'Dome of the slate island')

For the time being I can keep improvising on the islands I'm working on to keep the same style.

- I've also got another project besides LBAnet atm; an event visual novel project about espers (mostly story writing and character concepts).
-- Upon writing this entry I've also received my first job interview (a job I applied to about 3 months ago); the phone call could of gone better but I gotta remain positive despite nerves suddenly kicking into overdrive.
