I recommend: using <?php print date('Y'); ?>

Please - darkflame, mods in general:

Stop closing threads when 1 or 2 members do something wrong in it!
Why should all the forum pay for the misbehaviour/spam/nonsense/wrong-doing of a minority?

I simply don't get that policy.

If someone revives with crap a very old thread, PM him with a warning and delete the post. That's all. The thread will automatically go back to the past where it belonged, and won't be closed in case a future member ever wishes to revive it.

Just my opinion. I wouldn't like having my classic threads closed for such petish reasons.

sgk: Think of it this way: it's like a message in a bottle. In our world, we put a message inside a bottle to protect it while it travels through the oceans to reach some other island. In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

If your still referring to the anime thread LOTS of people did something wrong, one person was just the last straw.

As for this one, I just didn't see anything more people could contribute and it was old, so I was considering closing. Theres certainly no policy to close threads which one person did something wrong, but there is a policy to close when many people do, or it goes wildly offtopic. Or, in this case, its been long dead anyway.

People can always PM me if they really want something re-opened. Its just often easiest to close ancient things which dont deserve resurrection.

Ehrm.

For me, the only valid reason to close a thread is to contain a havoc, when things get out of control, and you absolutely must stop a handful of members from posting uninterruptly.

In any other case, deleting posts + PM warning should suffice.
