Lightbulb Revenge_guy planning own sitcom

ive tried to spread this around PEEL, red dwarf fan club message board and MSN chat but no one cared, i am writing and producing a sitcom of my own, i have already contacted the BBC and they are intrested. The sitcom will be called Hit The Right Note and will be about a bunch of lowlifes that start a band to make some money. I am sorry if mods are pissed off at me for opening loads of threads but i want your views, opinions and mabye some voullenteers for when i build the web page. If you are good i will attach a piece of the pilot script, thanks

What an odd co-incidence, a friend of mine (also, a red dwalf fan) is writting a sitcom.
He has roughly wrote a few scripts and was telling me about it on the phone.
Was about some students, but not really.
Seemed to be half-way between SPACED and The Young Ones, allthough i havnt read his scripts.

Is your friend writing in on behalf of the BBC talent project? I was going to do that 'till i found out it was a compotition and the best script did'nt really win. My sitcom is also like the young ones and is about students.

I was able to contact the BBC on this matter as i have written sketches for radio and a few for TV, so they kinda know me

Do you really think it'll work? How many people write these things, and how many get noticed? not a lot, really.

Sitcom is short for a situational comedy. Basically a series of episodes with with an underlying plotline with comedy as well. Red Dwarf is a good example.

I thought that as well, people like me dont really get noticed nowadays unless they shove a script under a commisiners nose, i am no big shot in the BBC and have not written a sketch for at least 7 years, fingers crossed eh?

Oh, and to bushmeister, im rule brittannia from PEEL, you might remember me telling you about this

Lembo, i might have a job for you, could you make a poster for the sitcom using paint and mail it to me, im really busy right now so i cant, i will put it in the webpage, very much appreciated if you can

ok, some more deatails of the sitcom:

the main characters are called Mike and Clark
i have not found the name for their band yet (any ideas )
i have written ideas for the 1st draft
If i do not get a deal then i will just have scripts and video clips on the web

okay, i have a poster for you, but it's just been knocked up quickly, as i have *so* many exams at the moment it's untrue. I'll do another one once i've finished my exams that i can take more time over if you want it? Oh, and i'm sure there are people here who could make you better posters than me, *far* better posters but still, i gave it a go. The files are at:

http://www.disassembly.co.uk/images/...erightnote.png
http://www.disassembly.co.uk/images/...erightnote.jpg
http://www.disassembly.co.uk/images/...erightnote.gif

depending on which format you want them in.

i didn't know what size you wanted, so they're all 800px wide x 1000px high, you can resize it as you want.

i've also put the photoshop file up, in case anybody else wants to make one using mine as a basis. it's at:

http://www.disassembly.co.uk/images/...erightnote.psd

Oh, and i'm sure it's fine to put up on your site or whatever, but for the moment it can't be used commecially (i.e. it couldn't be used in connection with the final thing if it did get to tv), just because they're my friend's pictures, not mine, so it's his permission you'd be needing. Oh, and one of the pics (the one of the amp), is googled. Sorry, but as i said, i don't have much time until a few days from now.

Apart from that, hope you enjoy them!

edit: the pics aren't up yet, my connection is being a fuck. i'll go down to the labs in about 30 mins and stick them up from there. Until then...

editedit: okay, all up. i'm getting a 403 error on the .png file for some reason, but i'll iron that out later perhaps.

Why not make their band name change each week?
or is that too obvious?

Indeed.

The only sitcoms im looking forward too now are the new series of "SPACED" and "Look Around You" (which isnt a sitcom, but a spoof BBC2 educational program)

Well, if you're going to start criticising people's spelling and punctuation; contractions require an apostrophe.

But Pandemona's statement is quite ironic because, as Lembo said, a contraction such as "let's" requires an apostrophe. "Let's" means "let us" and whenever a letter is left out an apostrophe needs to be used. So you can laugh derisively at Mr. P when he comes back if you do so wish. But you shouldn't really as we are all friends here. At least I hope so.
