Hit print screen on your creature, hit alt+ tab, go to paint, hit Edit-paste, position it and make it into a size you want, save as .png. Go to www.imageshack.us hit browse, navigate to your file, then click upload, then click on your pic, when it is fullscreen, click on it with your right mouse button, click show image, and then paste the link here.

Yeah, all these export thingies, smart way to let the users promote the game.

I got the free version of the Creature Creator but it greys out most of the buildingblocks. So i only have 1 row of eyes and so on. I wonder if the version that comes out tomorow has full access by default.

*edit

I also wonder about the IP rights. My guess is we are given none on the stuff we generate with this thing. Second Life, for example, always claimed you have IP rights on what you create with their stuff, but i always doubted that.

*edit2

Anyway, here is one i made just yet.

:P

I'm sure you have IP, just like you have IP over anything you create in photoshop.
If anything, it will be a kinda "second degree" IP, where they have IP over the componants, but you have IP over the combination you make from them.

Cool.
Even if Spore won't be a great game by itself (it probably will), it's technology is going to set example for many more games to come.

I'm probably gonna buy the full version of the CC (if I can find one with a discount),and THEN show my creatures. They don't come out as good as I want them to and I think it's because of the lack of available parts.

Other than the 6gb free hard drive space requirement I think Spore is pretty non-demanding. (has to be that way if they want it to be a successes like The Sims)

Didn't those creators of the game say something like:

"Since everything is generated the game will take ~50MB" (I dont remember the real number, but it was something very very small for a game.

Anyone else remember something like that?

I never played the game, but I'm pretty sure that wasnt procedral based, nor could you really "design" a creature, it was more picking combinations.
Still, I seem to remember it got good reviews.

In fact they said the saved objects would be really small. Textures, music and etc it's big as always. That's the reason the game needs 6 GB.

But the creatures savefiles are really small. I've 6 "monsters" already and all of them take up just 150 KB . How they could do it?! The savefliles are just *.png pics

In that case the .png image format must have additional space left for own comments.

I assume...

At least for the creature creator it is. I don't get how it works, but the truth is that it works!

I noticed something: There's a limit on the number of things you could add to your creature, the more complex the design the longer time for saving it.

Procedural is interesting.

(And the creatures dance right with the music you hear in game)

If you remove the transparancy by adding a background you get this;

I suspect the data is in the noise.

In fact..
