Neverwinter Nights 2:
My god, they really listened to the critisism. A LOT of new additions, 3.5 ruleset, gameplay tweaks and quite a good optimised engine (especially in compare to the dreadful engine of the first one). As I'm seeing now, by far the best application of the D&D ruleset.

Doukutsu Monogatari (Cave Story)
I'm still playing Fahrenheit, but sometimes I feel like playing something more light and vivid.
Cave Story is a pretty neat Metroid/Castlevania-style freeware game that was released less than 2 years ago by some Japanese guy. It follows the story of an anonymous human from the surface that finds himself underground in a world of rabbit-like creatures called Mimigas or something like that, and there's some doctor that wants to make an army out of them using some red flower.
This is an action adventure game with RPG elements, but it's not the character that you level up but your weapons, each weapon has 3 levels that also make it work differently. The catch it that if you get hurt you lose experience points and your weapon becomes weaker.

You should all give this a try.

Just spent some time playing Cave Story. Very weird game, but that's good.
Some Japanese Guy is really creative! Either that, or the Japanese just have a weird mindset

You seriously haven't tried Cave Story before!? It'l probably one of the best games ever. Seriously, this game is so well made, it makes most commercial games look like firsts attempts at RM2K. The weapons, the music, the levels, the characters and the bosses. Hell, even the story, with all it's small secrets.

Well, I wouldn't call commercial games "first attempts at RM2K".
It's good for its niche, but you can't say the music is a good match to some symphonic score, and the story as much as it's good isn't the best thing ever.
The weapons I must admit are pretty good, not just random types of ammo with different damage and range, but each weapon is good for a different situation and a different boss.

OMG, I hear you. Finished it a while back, it's so messed up. Especially when at the end Spoiler:
Thomas is staring at the mirror and suddenly turns around to reveal his lower jaw turned to metal and his eyes all white.
Chilling stuff. Plus an original take at FPS in that you're fighting melee most of the time.

I'll grant you the music. But in the case of the rest, I stand by what I said.

Sam & Max Culture Shock. Understandably short and had puzzles that were far too easy but that didn't make it any less funny.

I'm getting annoyed with Fahrenheit.
The whole concept was cute in the beginning, but I don't think DDR sequences and following pretty simple tasks without any challenge or creativity can hold a game together for long.

Sam & max culture shock was easy and short, but funny and very cheap. Finished it in 3 hours. Don't really know if it's was worth it. It was really short.

RoboBlitz was slightly more expensive, but grants much more gameplay.

Just get this piece of installer. Appearantly that's the "good one". There was an bad one released a week ago, which had some sort of "unlock problem".

Strange stuff. Though, I'm excited to try this out.

Well, I got Splinter Cell: Double Agent saturday and finished it just now, so that's 4 days of pretty extensive playing. It was very nice again, the double agent concept brought some interesting gameplay features while it's still an honest successor to the previous three parts. It was nice to see Sam Fisher in a game with a more character driven story rather than him being just the cool guy who finishes all the missions he gets without blinking an eye. The previous part Chaos Theory had some hints towards this as well but it didn't get much further developed until now.

Had a lot of fun with this one, very addictive and exciting. The fact that this part has more missions in broad daylight than previously and the light/sound meters got removed from the screen makes it a bit tougher but also more interesting I guess, you have to trust your instincts more in the game. What I particularly liked was the very well produced music, each time an enemy gets closer (or you to the enemy) the music gets more intense seamlessly. And it also has those nice sharp sounds when you nearly get detected, as from an action movie or something.

I had an average stealth rating of 89.5% ^_^

Never liked PacLand.
PacMania ruled, however.
