World of Goo still. Bloody brillent game. Love how it introduces a new idea every few levels, really diverse and with Portal-esq humour on the signposts.

Finished VVVVVV (demo), really cute and fun, even though some parts are a bit frustrating, but thanks to tons of checkpoints and no penalty in dying it's bearable (except for one of the final challenges which at the end of the game I was told it took me 51 attempts to pass).
Too bad it's so short (finished it in less than 2 hours), they should've expanded the world a bit further or at least left the game with a bit more sophisticated replay value, and not just the typical time trial, no deaths and another mode which is just cosmetic.

Playing Mass Effect 2.

It's nice... I mean... it's fun... kinda. It's no different than Mass Effect 1, it's just a continuation of the story. And like in Mass Effect 1, I just can't get over of how ridiculous everything is. I'm sorry, but I just can't!

For example: "Human beings are different than other sapient races in that they have more diverse genes." This one is just a big LOL, and I hope they were aware of it when they thought of that line. Of course humans have the most diverse genes, they're humans and any human is free to have any human trait. Each alien race is just a single human cloned over and over again, always same personality to create the illusion of a culture, and changed anatomy a bit to look like an alien. FFS, they didn't even bother creating male and female of each species, we're just supposed to take their word for it that there are female aliens too (except Asari who don't have males), hiding somewhere in the galaxy.

Paragon/Renegade system is somewhat annoying and makes the game look like the symbol of hypocrisy. Shepard, just moments after stealing from dead bodies as part of the gameplay, gets paragon points for talking someone else out of stealing from the dead.

I'm just not believing them they're traveling across the galaxy. It's so cheap... get from one town to another, see some landscape, do missions... Why even pretend it's sci-fi? Aside from some half-assed "sci-fi facts" about usage of quantum technology and AI and exotic elements and stuff, it's just another RPG where you talk to people and do stuff.

Which is fun. Kinda.

That actually made a bit of sense to me.
If you think about it, a species that has been united for a long, long time will most likely be a bland of all the diverse characteristic it had developed when it was more separated.

I would guess the rationale there was that the human race was united for only 200-300 years or so? As opposed to other races being united for thousands of years.
You know there's talk that in a couple of hundred years of mixing we'll all look look like some sort of a hybrid between all of the races we have.

Still, it doesn't really make sense with each of those races having various colonies. Some of them would be bound to be on worlds with different gravity, different radiation - all having an effect on their physiology. All of that would contribute to greater genetic diversity, if not speciation even...

The looting's really stupid, and I thought the same thing when playing the game, but hey, it's a part of rpg's for ages. I do however think they should do something about it already... Find a better mechanism of getting stuff...

All in all though I really, really enjoyed the game. I did however miss the Mako driving...

Lego Universe (beta) - Bloody brillent. Glitchy, and lots incomplete, but great fun. Humour, decent gameplay, and not as repedative as most MMOs.
Seems you can collect lego bricks and build stuff (anything) with them, although I haven't managed to do that yet. Theres even a tab in my brick-box called "behaviours", guessing that lets you assign scripts to your models.
For the moment though I'm just running around smashing stuff and platforming...much like Lego Star Wars.

Hope they just refine it enough though and dont rush it out. Inventory needs to be bigger and a much better camera. Not getting the basic's fixed could ruin a game that otherwise has a lot of potential.

A Lego MMO sounds like fun, but it's probably quite expensive as all MMOs are.

Just finished Bioshock 2, pretty good game, gameplay might be abit more solid but story was better in the first.
Still got the same creepy mysterious feeling that you fint in the SystemShock games, love it =)

But I got really tired of simply just picking up random stuff all the time, I guess I spent 80% of the gametime facing downwards, felt like a dog.

Just started Battlefield - Bad Company 2.

I´m beginning to get a little tired of first person shooters, but this one was really lovely, at least so far =) Modern Warfare 2´s envirorment where pretty stiff, in Bad Company it feels alot more dynamic.

Never understood why Bioshock is supposed to have a good story.
Great atmosphere, certainly. Decent dialogue? supposed, yes. But story meh.
Spoiler:
Seemed the most pointless and long-winded way to commit suicide ever...

Started playing Prototype. That game is BRUTAL.
You just start the game as this nice guy who escaped from some bad guys, and as soon as the cut scene is over and the gameplay begins, this nice guy starts commiting a massacre and killing, tormenting, and even EATING thousands of innocent people walking the streets, just for fun.

It's as if he suddenly became possessed.... ....by me. MUHAHAHAHAHA

...erm yes, where was I? Oh - nice game.

Thinking about it, lots of games have you killing people left, right and centre, but when someone else does it (plotwise), your character gets pissed of.

...just like in real life.

By the way, Prototype: His motive for his adventure? He wants to kill the people who gave him super powers. Typical religious mindset. Instead of being grateful for being better, he wants to punish the people who made him an abomination. While in fact he only became an abomination the moment he decided to start killing people.
