Song of Gabriel remake in FL Studio
Hi all,
I've been working on remaking Song of Gabriel from LBA2 in FL studio for the past few months. I'm trying to make it sound as close as possible to the original without resulting to sampling ![]() I posted a first preview in the LBA2 Sheet music thread, but I thought it would be nice to split this out into its own thread (and will hopefully motivate me to finish the project!). The ultimate goal is to replace the audio track from the LBA2 ending video with my version of the song: I'll be posting updates as I progress so check back later!

This is the original preview I posted in the LBA2 sheet music thread, just showcasing my favorite part of the song:
I spent a significant amount of time trying to recreate the bell sound and I still think I'm slightly off (pretty close but something's not quite there). There are still a few layers left (i.e. bass) and the snare is still a bit off. But overall sounds good!

So the above video was actually posted over a month ago and I've made quite a bit of progress. I've got the entire song down in varying degrees of completeness (i.e. there are still some obvious gaps which need to be worked on, most notably the into and penultimate sections). Managed to find a suitable "children playing track" to go with the intro which matches pretty well to the original!
I've also realised that I'm probably going to have to re-create all of the sound effects from the ending movie since the music file is mixed in with the SFX and I'm struggling to isolate them... that might be interesting.

I was a bit unsure about it, but when it reached that center bit I was just blown away, that's absolutely right on the money!
Good luck finishing this!

I agree with Bot13. This sounds really good already. I know you still have more work to do, but keep at it!
![]() Sounds like there are still a few instruments missing in the beginning. But, you did manage to pull off that child track well.

Really cool! Song of Gabriel is my fave and it gives me chills everytime. Used to run away from the oc when the intro and outro started when I was a kid, cause I couldn't handle it xD
I do have a question out of curiousity: is your goal to recreate the song as close as possible to the original, just for fun? Or is your goal to create an enhanced/better version? |

That's sounding awesome!!!!
I'd add some reverb to the piano at beginning (like smoothen it out?) and maybe fade the strings a little, they seem too sudden :P But loved it <3 |

Amazing work done here.
We can see a lot of progress made on the different versions, specially at the beginning of the song. I really like it and it's so close to the original that is hard to notice.
