Hey CS2x, thank you very much for the reply!

I find hardware synths quite attractive, I'd like to have at least one, but there are so many models, types, categories, etc., that really get me confuse as to what exactly are the differences between one or another. But, mostly, I made that question as to figure out whether I should get an actual synth or just a controller (to use with my laptop).

sgk: Think of it this way: it's like a message in a bottle. In our world, we put a message inside a bottle to protect it while it travels through the oceans to reach some other island. In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

They are indeed a lot of fun! But to be honest, I think you would do best to spend the same money on various soft synths (ones with deep capabilities only made possible through computer technology, not the kind that are emulating vintage gear), effects plugins (like the Valhalla plugs), a USB audio interface, MIDI controller and microphone. Some purists would deem that heretical, but really, there would be no limits with that setup! I have done some of my best stuff (as have others) like that.

Wow, Lightwing, that's very nice of you to finally show us how you look like after all these years...! I'm pretty sure some other old-timers here will appreciate as well.

Hahaha yes I do! And it's true, I liked the way you looked with long hair. Although short hair does fits you nicely too (and I know it's a lot more practical for everyday).
