Where does it come from?

Where does the sound that the magic ball makes when thrown comes from? I've heard it in other places and it always reminds me of LBA, but I don't know if LBA is its origin.

Where does it come from?

i think it's some public library or something, because I hear it pretty often in TV shows or cartoons.

I once found lots of sounds from LBA in a Sound Effects I got from a friend, about 1 year ago... Probably they are from some type of library for software developers or audio engineers...

I also found a few ones on Youtube too:

I would say it's produced by a Magic Ball.

Always great to get confirmation from the man himself, thanks!

I remember hearing the sound the spear Esmer's make when you hit them without the correct level of magic in Super Mario Galaxy and always wondered where the sounds came from.

And where did you get that CD, or it belonged to whom?

I want to get to the bottom of this,

Hi! I am very interested in foley and sound FX. I try to make those myself.
Here for exapmle - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk8zJBPPE-g - the sounds are produced by the following things:
1 - Wooden ruler sprung across the table
2 - Triangle or flexatone
3 - Synthesized and modulated square wave
4 - Mouth harp
5 - Glissando hit on a hand drum
6 - Duck call
7 - Synthesized sound, a filtered sine wave
8 - A thin thread on a spinning bobbin (kind of a toy)
etc...

Yes, almost every nation has this kind of instrument. P.S. I corrected my post, it seems I watched one video and pasted another link into my previous post.

This, dear ponymorph, is something that in the world of music comes very near the definition of "awesome"

You put this against your teeth, and pus the middle part of it, making it vibrate like a string. This will resonate differently depending on how you shape the inside of your mouth.

Enough talk, demonstration : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhvt2EMhfsY
(The vid has a bad quality, fortunately the instrument emits sounds around the same register as human voice, so it's quite easily recordable.)
