I think some of us are also interested in any other games he has done music for too.
We might be LBA fans, but that dosnt stop us also being fans of what the LBA team might do elsewhere too ![]()

Well hmm exam time, school and everything, I have like two lines of it translated...
I think the better should if everyone translates only a part of it.

I can help, but there is nothing really about a LBA3 game, it was only announcing how LBA2 had been made...

A Rough Translation of the first question and answer
I like the idea of translating piece by piece. However, I'm no expert in the French language. The idiomatic stuff gets me and I didn't want to spend too much time on this. But I guess you guys might appreciate a rough translation of the very first part. If other people do this, we could get a readable version together before the polished translation is released!
What training have you had? Have you trained as a composer? I haven't really had any musical training, none in fact. I work by listening for everything that I do. I've been making music for years and years. I started by playing guitar and then joined a rock band. This gave me the chance to get to know the scene a little bit and also to get experience with a few studio recordings. And then, one day, everyone went their seperate ways. The band was over and I wanted to continue to make music. At the same time, I had done a computer course. The introduction of the first computers that could be used to create music (Atari, Pro 24, etc...) gave me the opportunity to compose music by myself. I simply tried to create and find my own 'music language'. Over one or two years, I amused myself by doing little things for myself: competitions, jingles...etc. And through a group of close friends, I got to know the founders of Infogrames. And so we worked together here and there, off the record, when this young company consisted of about 4 or 5 people. So I was working on the computer side of things but it wasn't enough for me because it wasn't really what I wanted to do. I worked a lot with machines and because I had a good ear for music, well I say a good ear (laughs), my work with the computer allowed me to experiment, to play around with the basics, and to find out how to work with instruments. Using orchestra instruments without an orchestra opened up an infinite number of possibilities for me, according to me at the time. This lack of formal musical knowledge never limited my creative side. Well, only sometimes when I had discussions with other musicians who weren't open-minded to a new technique. But anyway, in general, one gets away from these types of difficulties very quickly! |

Oh, and it's good to finally be a member of the MBN (it took ages for me to register because I kept on not reading the verification instructions, e.g. type third word only, and then giving up and coming back) but I owe MBN a lot! I love the downloadable Vachey tracks! LBA's theme always uplifts me!
