South Africa doesn't play boring, they stand for the most offensive, progressive and positive soccer in the tournament, too bad they suck...

Gustav: You think Cameroon will win? They'll get to round 2, but will get no further than that. They're not really anything special.

And don't get too cocky. Now that Dyer is fit England have a full strength squad, and can now qualify from Group F in 1st or 2nd place. So Sweden, watch out!

I saw the Senegal vs France match today. I saw the whole game because I'm on study leave (throughout the World Cup too) and so instead of using my time to revise, I'm going to watch football!
Great game. Senegal defended superbly. Bad mistake by Barthez though, giving Sengal the goal. Terrible goalkeeping.

Well, after watching the performance, I can say that the French side isn't as good as it was 4 years ago, some of the players are too old, the defence is quite weak, Barthez is crap and they need Zidane badly. Even with two of the best strikers in the world, Henry and Trezuguet, they failed to break the Senegal defence which shows they have problems. They HAVE to win against Uruguay and Denmark or I'm afraid they'll be taking an early exit. A win and a draw won't be good enough, in my opinion.

Oh and Gustav, on the subject of Sweden:

Your goalkeeper plays for the mighty English force of, er, Coventry and one of your 'talented' midfielders plays for, er, Wimbledon. You are, essentially, a two man team.

Now I'm not saying we're easily going to beat you - far from it - but to dismiss a team with quality players such as Beckham, Owen and Ferdinand is just arrogant.

At the moment, you can't afford to write any decent team off, much less England.

Yeah, lgr is right. We are unbeaten under Sven Goran Eriksson, but yet you are very keen to write us off. Besides, I just heard that Ljungberg might be injured for the game against England. Now that Dyer is fit, we have a complete and strong midfield.

And don't read anything from the friendlies that we played. True, we drew 1-1 with S.Korea and 2-2 with Cameroon, but freindlies don't prove jack, coz no team can be bothered in friendlies, and it's mainly the back-up team that is played.

Hehe... Wimbledon midfielder Håkan Mild is out of the tournament, I am sorry to say that, cause he is the nightmare of England actually. A hard-working player, part of the Swedish bronze squad 1994. Why is he the nightmare of england then? Cause in 3 games against England in his life he has scored 3 goals. (Pre-Euro 95, 2 goals (3-3) and Friendly in Manchester 2001 (1-1). In his third England game, the Euro qualifier at Wembley 1999 he went off the pitch after 5 minutes after being sickly injured by England's best player, Paul Scholes.
Although, it is pretty good that he isnt in, I bet he was starting to age a bit.

EVen if Hedman plays for Coventry, I regard him as a better keeper than David Seaman.

Ah.. You are that smart... hehe... All English always think that they are good, but I am sorry. Ferdinand hasn't made any good games for the national team actually. (Not many, that is, I dont have a very good knowledge about him). Beckham... Do you guys REALLY think that he is 100% if he plays. He can not be! He has been injured for 2 months! I hope that he plays actually, that would help Sweden a lot.

You are unbeaten under Svennis? Might be so. But, think, how many good games has England played under his reign of power? 1. Germany (5-1) was a good game, I admit. But beating Albania and Finland and such... Well, England should do. And the problems in the last game in Athens...(2-2)... nonono..
Ljungberg will play, he is injured now, but he will play. If he doesn't... Well then Andreas Andersson takes his place... (I hope) And he is in the shape of his career and also he isn't deadly tired after a long and outsucking season. He plays in the Swedish league, which has just 7 games played.

Strong Midfield? Dyer has been injured... Beckham has too.. (as I said). They are not the ones. You got today one good midfielder, his name is Paul Scholes.

No I don't base anything on friendlies.. I just know that England is extremely overrated and that they actually lose against Argentina. Draw against Sweden. Loss against Nigeria. That is England. That is my prediction.

Finally: Please critisize the Swedish team more, I want better challenge. We have at least one weak part. A very weak one. Which can help Beckham to wonders.

Gustav, you have an old and sluggish defence akin in part to France's, only worse. The sheer pace of Michael Owen (one of, if not the, world's best strikers) and Darius Vassell will easily expose.

Quote:
EVen if Hedman plays for Coventry, I regard him as a better keeper than David Seaman.
That really cracked me up.

Oh, and why do you want to count matches that took place seven years ago? Well in that case, look at Euro '96. Sweden, er, didn't even qualify, whereas England lost in the semi finals on penalties.

Ferdinand is one of the world's best defenders. In 90 games for Leeds, he has not been booked once, If you cannot see how good he is, you obviously do not watch enough English football. He is, at any rate, a hundred times better than any of your defenders (how many of your defenders moved clubs for a record GPB18 million?)

Beckham has been injured for one month, not two, and he is 100% match fit actually, which you would know if you were following the English camp. He is naturally very fit.

Finally, at least our players don't get into stupid fights with one another (a la Ljungberg and the talented, er, Aston Villa part timer Melberg.

Watched all 3 games today.

Cameroon vs Ireland
Cameroon were the better side in the first half, Irland were nervous and looked a bit deflated after the Roy Keane scandal before the world cup. Cameroon deserved to be ahead at half-time.
In the 2nd half, Ireland dominated, and showed that Cameroon have a weak and vulnerable defence. Great goal by Matt Holland, Ireland were unlucky not to take all 3 points. 1-1

Uruguay vs Denmark
Very entertaining game this. I fancied Uruguay to beat Denmark before the match, but I was wrong. A great performance by Denmark, they deserved the victory. Two well worked goals by Tommasson (or whoever he is). 2-1
An honourable mention on this match goes to Rodriguez of Uruguay who scored that magnificant left-foot volley to make it 1-1. That could be the goal of the tournament.

Germany vs Saudi Arabia
Well, there's no nice way to put it, but Saudi suck big time. Germany are no longer the side they were, but they still managed to slaughter Saudi. Germany didn't really impress, it was the fact that Saudi were like a sunday league side that made it so easy.
Once again, Carsten Janker dissapointed and missed a hat full of chances, only putting 1 in the back of the net. It was the other striker, Klose (I think, memory a bit hazy) who shone scoring an easy hat-trick. 8-0

Analysis
A massive win the Denmark. With Senegal as their next match, they have to be favourites to qualify from Group A. Uruguay have France in their next match, and I think they could be making an early exit from this tournament.

A massive boost for Germany, but Ireland and Cameroon are both quality sides who are capable of beating Germany. Even after beating Saudi 8-0, don't expect Germany to qualify from this group easily.

Hehe, we'll compensate that by being very low down on the pitch, and also in the headings. Olof Mellberg is really fast, but the **** coaches dont play him in the centre defense. They use him as wingback, just because we dont have any REAL ones.

Quote:

I wanted to count THAT game (not these games), since it was Sweden-England, and Sweden-England is the game tomorrow. History is important in these cases. Did England qualify to Euro 96? No. And take a look at the Euro 2000 qualification. Who won the group with 1759878957 points ahead of england?

Quote:

Ferdinand hasnt been playing well in the National Team, I said. I did not say anything about his Leeds shape. Hundred times better than my defenders? Now, I am getting 'crackedup', cause that is a lie. Everyone knows that the defense are Sweden's best attribute. And how can you even compare Ferdinand to Patrik Andersson? He plays for Barcelona. He joined them from Bayern München where he decided the league last year. He was voted player of the year in the Bundesliga. HOW CAN YOU? How? How can you regard Ferdinand as much better?? Cannot understand.

Quote:

Hehe... I have been following the English camp. I even got spies sent outthere... ... No one is absoluteley fit after a thing like that. (except Peter Forsberg, that is)... BUt anyway...

About the fights, now you are keeping it under the soccerlevel. That wasn't about the players skills. It was about some little arguement that exploded. That happens VERY often in the lcubs around Europe, and you know it.

And about the prize of Ferdinand... That is a pretty stupid arguement. The prize is also a part of the media hype, if the player will sell good for the team he is mroe expensive, so the prize do not just have to do with the skills..

btw...Remember Chris Sutton? hehe.. And I do not know the prize of Patrik Andersson. But I guess that if Barcelona buys a first eleven man, they do not offer peanuts...

About today:
Since I was on fucking IRC late yesterday I couldnt wake up to watch the first 25 mins of Ireland-Cameroon. I saw the goal... And Cameroon's wonderful play. Ireland was good in the 2nd. But I think that that was only since Cameroon got high noses in the páuse. - THey thought it was over!

Then it was Uruguay-Denmark. Big game for both, not just after yesterday's result, also for the result between the countries in teh world cup 1986, 6-1 to Denmark. First I was amazed of Uruguay's tactics and formations. They played an offensive lineup, unlike my and everyone's predictions. Uruguay started out very good. But then Denmark change it all. That is strange,I think, due to the temperature in Ulsan. Isn't Uruguay a pretty hot country? And Denmark has got the same climate as I have here (I live 15km from Denmark)... But Uruguay obviously got tired. That was pretty sad, I think, for Uruguay. Their chances are already dead, and still they are a very good team. (I presume they are dead, since they have France in the next game, and on the coming lines I'll ddescribe why France'll beat Uruguay clearly.)
About France:
I thinkt that the loss is like a ringing bell for them. Their small chances of winning their second consecutive world cup has been bigger... Why? Cause after this they will understand where they are... And they will wake up and start to be one of the best again. Senegal then? I still think that they will qualify.

Germany-Saudi:
The game was showed at a ppv channel LIVE, so I couldn't see it before the evening. And after 2-0 I knew where it was heading, so I went here instead. Now I've heard from Gazogem and Snapman that the game ended 8-0. And that shouldn't happen in 2002! How could they pass Iran in the qualifier??? How could they even pass Mongolia in the first round of the qualification??
It also amazes me how a talented keeper like Mohammed Al-Deayea could let 8 goals behind. Probably the defense sucked. ALthough I do not know, since I didnt watch.

Prediction Group E:
Cameroon and Germany goes through. (Germany has got an awesome advantage now, because of their goaldifference, the group is likely to have more than one team with the same points). Do not count off Saudi yet! This kinda loss... Well... They MUST be wanting some revenge... But not until last round.. When they'll ruin Ireland's chances of reaching the playoffs. That is my prediction.

Prediction Group F tomorrow:
Argentina-Nigeria 3-2 or something
Two attacking teams who will have a close battle. This will be the most enjoyable game in the wc so far (or was Denmark-Uruguay be better?)...
THE BIG GAME:
Sweden-England
Tip: 1-1
Although I do not know. I am pretty worried now. Patrik Andersson and Fredrik Ljungberg are injured, and both are not sure of starting the game... If both do not.. Well, then we have lost 2 of our 3 key players.
But on the other hand Beckham will be the flop. Remember where you read that.
Nearly forgot the scorers:
omg
cant decide
so ill have to chance
0-1 Paul Scholes (54)
1-1 Zlatan Ibrahimovic (86)
hehe
Allbäck might score.
Beckham wont score.
Andreas Andersson might score.
Scholes might score.
That is my prediciton.
