I do not know yet how you can explore other hemispheres but i will try and find out tomorrow.

is it just me or can't i chat? I click the chat bar but when i type there is no message :P

It means you are not connected to the server.
If you play locally the chat is disabled

This is not the complete workpackage release, just a few bugs corrected plus a brand new chatbox.

The chatbox might look ugly, but actually it is now completly skinnable, so we just need to create some nice LBA looking skin and i will be able to update the look of it.

So now the chatbox:
- can use foreign characters
- has tabs
- use the "return" key as shortcut
- can select text
- can erase text with keeping the backspace button pressed
- is movable
- is resizable

I am using a library called CEGUI for the GUI display.

here is the tool they provide to edit skins:

the current skin in use is:

Oh wow that already looks really good Nothing to add on Leoboe's design. Maybe the font can be the LBA font, though?

Yes it looks nice, but it is not complete,
attached is the image used for the current chat.

You will see that there is a loot of parts in there.

For the font, I can basically use any font file of format .ttf which is free of use.

For people willing to help, I am actually in need of some.
Here are the tasks that need to be done sooner or later:
  • Game testing (try to find glitches in the game and report them in the bugtracker). Some people like Kobold or leoboe are already contributing a lot, but the more the better.
  • Creating a short video trailer of the game.
  • Creating a nice looking skin for the in-game GUI.
  • Creating a website for the game. It would not be only simple HTML website but more a PHP type website with read/write to database.
  • Creating some new worlds for the game, now all the tools are available so just try them out!

That would be it for the moment. So if anybody is interested by one of this job, just send me a PM.

I've got a comment on the constant music loop you integrated. I know I requested this, but I was only talking about the Giant Citadel World where the entire outside is one map and there's no music if you stay there for a longer time. That's why I said I would like to have the option to have the music loop in that area. But all the time, especially in the original LBA 1 world, it can get a bit annoying. Maybe you could put a button somwhere or add a key with which you can turn the loop on/off.

The chatbox looks a bit ugly, but I couldn't test it online yet and I can't really judge it without an LBA skin applied. As long as it works properly, it's a big step forward.

The mouse cursor looks a bit too big, can you make it a little bit smaller?

Also, it would be good if the game window started in the middle of the screen, I always have to move it upwards to fully see it.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the server going online so that I can test the new chat!

Do you need the original LBA1 cd in to play? Anyway maybe you should integrate the original music to play in the right places, that would be pretty cool. Can you travel to other islands yet btw?

I just found out that the fonts and images of the GUI were scaling with the screen resolution, which made things look even more ugly in high resolution.

I have fixed that, please unpack the attachement in you game directory, it should replace 3 files of the data directory. After that the GUI should look like better.

Kitarii: the game is already playing the original songs in the originals places actually. Kobold I will think about a way to do that.

Okay guys this is the original LBA world, modified by me so that Twinsen's house has an exit!
Unzip the file into your Data folder, then start the game and choose LBA1ExitFixed as the world.

This zip file is just a patch of the previous version, so you first need to have the game version v.023 on your pc, then replace the game files by this patch.

Content of the patch:
- you can now see who is online
- copy/paste functionnality added to the chatbox
- you can now hide the gui windows by cliking the cross on each of them, they will then become iconified. You can then show the windows again by clicking the icon
- added fix made by Kobold to add some missing map exits from the original LBA1 world

However, you can't get to Funfrock's fortress yet.

You can only visit other islands in the original LBA 1 world (or my fixed version of it). I can show you how to when you come online.
