Today's Waltz :)

hi,

I don't often write waltzes or piano tunes (it's very hard and I need inspiration to pull it of right, and often I'm more inspired to write spacious tunes).

But here's one I really like

Any feedback is welcome =)

Some of the 'off' parts are intended, and there's the main melody at the beginning someone think has off notes, I checked and I disagree.

Funny....

glad you like it

It's kinda hard to say whether I like it or not... let's see:

good points:
- pro instruments
- pro final mix/mastering (volume, no clipped distortions)
- no problems with tempo and beat
- I do like waltz and stuff like that
- the background piano making the base song with lower notes sounds lovely

all in all, the song should sound allright... but

bad points:
- boring (by boring, I mean it's not entrancing or catchy or anything.. it doesn't hold you to make you want to listen till the end of it)
- rather off melody (may not be technically off but sounds off anyhow)
- violins/strings do not combine with the rest of it
- solo piano becomes boring after a while
- non-sequitur melody

hm..

sgk: Think of it this way: it's like a message in a bottle. In our world, we put a message inside a bottle to protect it while it travels through the oceans to reach some other island. In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

Hey fair points. It seems there is something people consider off about the piano melody. Is it in the first part of the melody?

I kind of like the tune, but wasn't expecting it to be everyone's pleaser.
