Patch and Crack don't work - LBA2 - Please Read

Right, first of all this ISN'T Master Cheater, this is his friend just using his account for one post (with permission, of course)

Now, I got him to send me LBA2 (apparently abandonware, which makes it semi-legal, but I don't condone it in any way)

Then, the graphics were garbled, so I got a patch from MBN to fix that. Now, it tells me I need to insert a CD to play it, but seeing as I'm running it from my Hard Drive, it won't work. I got two Cracks from megagames.com. The crack named 'NOHATE - X-IT'. This one didn't seem to work, so I got the crack named 'BUTCH'. This apparently did well, but when I ran the EXE for LBA2, it flashed the CD-check screen with Zoé and Twinsen, and then it faded out and closed the application. What the heck is wrong now?

I'm using WinXP, by the way.
