Portrait [photoshop, about 6 hours]

So what's with all the art being posted lately? Time for me to show one of my latest drawings. I'm really open for criticism.

So first off I started with a simple sketch:

And then I tried finishing something for once:

The idea of the hair looking like ribbons is very nice. I think you should fiddle with the colours though, the skin is yellowish-green, when it should be warm-yellow, pink. Also, the ribbon around the neck looks like it was looked from top, but the whole posture suggests front. You should add something on the left too, couse the right is too "heavy" and makes the face look not very symetrical (or at least as close a human face can get symetrical) -> reversing the image horizontally helps, you then make it work from both sides.

And maaaan, mixing all the colours? Far out! I always use a single colour for each surface and then fiddle with light and shadows - lazy approach.

I just have a tip about the proportions of the face - the eyes are too big, the whole face is unnaturaly long. I think that this tutorial might help you: http://www.rabbitprince.com/tutorials_art/face.html

I quite like it really, Jasiek makes some good points though, especially that symmetry thing.

Haha, that's easy for me. About everything is better than anything I have drawn, this included.
