LBA1 definatly. LBA2 had quite a few things i disliked.

For one, i find it to be less mature at times, which sort of holds back on the deep story lba2 tells. I also dislike the easiness of it. I like exploring new worlds, but it took years for me to actually appreciate zeelich.

I likes lba1 because it sort of gave me a feeling of calm in the midst of tyranny. It was a peacefull looking world, surrounded by oppression, and at times youd really feel like you were all alone. Such as the time you first step into the himalaysa or the time you just pass through the Carrot door, or the time you first meet dinofly etc...

That'll be George Orwells "1984". And Animal Farm was better anyway.

But in all seriousness, no your right. LBA wasn't exactly apocalyptic dark. But, looking at Funfrocks regime, it is the cutesy version of Stalin. Thats quite dark in it's own right. Perhaps made even darker by how it contrasts the cutesyness around it.

LBA1 is quite 1984-like

Argh, I don't know. Both are my favorite really, but LBA2 simply because the environments are more diverse and Twinsen doesn't sound so...strange.

I hate LBA1 %)) It is boring. No serene atmosphere. Only action-action-action. Like Tomb Rider %)) Awesome save system. I've tried to play when it has appeared (as I remember, I've stopped at Desert Island), but I've bought LBA2 being lead by fine memory. It (the memory) didn't disappointed me %))
LBA1's plot is stronger, but gameplay is fully on the side of LBA2.
IMO %))

Lol. I think he tried to explain, he remembered LBA1 being good, but it actually wasn't. (Though he's wrong. VERY wrong.)

Storywise, yes, LBA1 is 1984, but visually it's much more brighter. Even Temple of Bu and FunFrock's HQ was graphically pleasent.

And Exie, I don't think that LBA2 had any less action than Relentless. I would certainly not compare it as being like Tomb Raider. And aside for Citadel and Desert Isle, LBA2 had no serene atmosphere either. How about those volcanic sceneries and toxic gases?

You spend half of the game on Citadel/Desert Island.

I found the temple of Bu in LBA1 dark and scary...

Actually, there was no such style as LBA2's one. Thus, second LBA has appeared and beaten itself %)) And Ecstatica-Bioforge-AITD-Flashback for company %)) IMO.

It doesn't have, it is the game of action still. But its overall percentage is smaller, due to foreign genre elements. I think LBA2 differs from LBA1 the same way as LBA1 differs from Tomb Rider %))

Yeah, sometimes it is scaring %)) I needed to turn into lifeless robot and walk under red undergas sky in order to see my native Twinsun again, hehe

If by "dumb save system," you mean "the best dern save system ever made," then yes I agree with you.

I never had any trouble with it and the idea of never having to worry about saving the game is just wonderful.

Yeah, for example if the game crashes (although it hardly happens with LBA), you don't have to curse anyone for having to re-play entire scenes.
