I just wanted to post again to verify I'm still on the side of coincidence - you can make any Twinsun/Zeelich island match somewhere on Earth.

Yes, ofcourse. But that's because I'm insane.
I thought you were sane?

Also, part of the Republic shows up on the Wannie map- were your theory
true. To my mind, such wild geographic errors prove that the Island of the Wannies is not based on the UK. Why, for example is the northern chunk of the Republic Of Ireland there, while the Lothians and Fife aren't? Fife can be explained by LBA bieng optimistic, but why no Lothians? Or Orkney and Shetland- both part of the UK too.

Trust me- I didn't. Socratic irony, really.

I do actually see the UK resemblance, although I believe that one is more coincidental than the Italy one might be.

As for portugal... I think you have to want to see it.

Exclamation

hello people...
I'm bumping this thread because Renesans asked me about the email I wrote to Fred long time ago about the Citadel Island - italy thing.

I hope this won't result in thousands of new posts discussing the old topic, but I feel correct to post Fred's answer, that at the time I didn't because I suddenly stopped to visit the forum for uni commitments

here is Fred's answer to my message (I translated in blue the sentence he wrote in french):

I'm very sorry, but it was NOT done on purpose, neither for White Leaf desert. It's a pure coincidence, Kid (the guy who modeled the external maps) had some guidelines told by the game play/story.

Désolé si c'est une mauvaise nouvelle, et merci de garder MBN en vie, j'espère que vos efforts seront récompensés un jour...
(I'm sorry if that's a bad news, and thank you all keeping the MBN alive, I hope that one day your efforts will be rewarded...)

Amicalement,
Frédérick.
now my two cents: fred had been super-kind to answer me on this not-so-important thing, and (as I wrote him lately) his reply is to me his best reward. Anyway I still thought (and think) that CI is too similar to IT to be just a coincidence, so I surfed the net searching for this guy called "Kid" in the email, but this probably was a nickname, because i couldn't find any similarity with any of the names of the LBA2 team... so I ended up with nothing, but in my heart I know my finding was right

I think that Fred's answer put a "full stop" to this discussion. again, I think it's a big honour that he answered me and give thanks to all of us.
cheers, qKiwi

Great, still I think these islands have more to it even if it wasn't by Freds purpose or intent. Might aswell be this Kid who had put it in there.
