Rabibunny The Same Old Man

Did you know (you probably already did but I just found out) that in LBA1, the old rabbibunny in the desert on the island of the white leaf desert playing his guitar, is the same rabbibunny in LBA2 on top of the hacienda playing his flute trying to charm the snake?
(That's probably why when you talk to him in LBA2 he knows your name!)
Exact same clothes, features and colour! Take a look:

If they are the same guys, how do you explain this line?

This was discussed here before, in less than one year ago, unless my memory cheats on me.

Simple- Twinsen never actually said to the guy "And here is what I'm doing on the other islands!". As far as the Rabbibunny could tell in the first game Twinsen came out of nowhere, did the whole Temple of Bu thing, went off to goodness knows where doing goodness knows what and comes back with a snazzy guitar, which he then trades for the flute. Basically, unless it's mentioned in the Legend, the old man doesn't know about it, hence he knows the flute is neccasary for getting the clear water, etc, but not exactly what Twinsen is up to.

What he's saying in that line, pretty much, is "I know what you did last game, and I approve sir".

Exactly, I was just going to say something like that. But maybe a little different. I came across that line to when I spoke to the man, but I didn't take it to mean anything different from what I first thought.

Lets have a look at the quote again:
Your reputation has hopped from island to island to reach me, Twinsen.

And lets look closer..... at the word 'reputation'
CiB could be right. His theory was very good. But what I took it to mean was that this old rabbibunny knew Twinsen, but when he says his reputation jumps from island to island to reach him I interpreted as meaning the reputation (not name) of Twinsen, which is him being a hero, stopping Funfrock in LBA1, etc, travelled around Twinsun, so the old Rabbibunny knew what Twinsen had done.

So agreeing with CiB, Basically the rabbibunny would be approving and remarking Twinsen's heroic act and success in LBA1.

I haven't noticed that either - even though it seems so obvious now. Thanks RosaMarietheCow!

The difference between Twinsen, Zoe, Dino-Fly and the same old FunFrock from LBA1 is that these are major characters! The rabbibunny is just a minor one.

So, unless you're a god-damn LBA expert who played the game several hundred times - like let's say El Muerte - and not just about 10 like me - you might have actually noticed that... So there's nothing funny about these ironic replies.

well, what can I say?

You do not need to become an expert to notice the simlarity? having visited the desert in both games ought to be enough. But maybe I overestimated the obviousness of it.

Harder it is to notice that baldino is the same grobo in lba1 and 2; he talks and looks completely different!

Well actually, I have played LBA2 like a gazillion times (it feels) but I have only played LBA1 once, Well actually not even that, I didn't even get half way - the game stopped working.
