Perhaps asking a forum set up, maintained and populated entriely by LBA fans if LBA1 is going to return a biassed response in favour of LBA1?

It ain't necessarily so, as you can read, some people like LBA2 and not LBA1.

Thumbs Up

ansewirng ur question it really worths to play LBA1, i also think that everybody who played LBA1 first than the 2nd really fall in love with LBA 1 and all its characters! each time i play it i love the fat guards and the rebels of Hamalayi and the clones!
Also, I couldnt choose one of both because each one has its great things, LBA 2 has much more stages and screens, but LBA 1 is much more 'darker' and u can see that in the story.. One half of the world is evacuated and out of bound because of the horrible plan that 'Dr' Funfrock has...
another thing, when u reach to the end you will get surprised!
among u play the game goes more and more interesting!

lba2 was funny, but emotionally very flat and not as deep as lba1.

Yes, but the majority of MBN members liked both games, and thus the majority of responses here will suggest that playing LBA1 is indeed worth it.

ofcourse; lba 1 is like you are in a tainted world that originally was very mysterious and beautifull. The music was very, very deep and sung of lonelyness and nostalgia - but also of the feeling that even though times are grim and dark, there's light at the end of the day, a glimps of hope.

Now imagine lba2, where in contrast everything is bright, childlike and beautifull....the music is more adventurous and cinematic....those are all aspects that attract lots of people and children, and it was done BEAUTIFULLY.

But, even so...if you read the first part of my explanation you will understand why people will feel lba2 is flat.

well i share the things you ve said but i still dont think that lba2 is flat, maybe its more attractive to all kind of audiences but if you see island CX and sub gas, otringal etc it isnt really beautyful i think it is like wreck and dark

I played LBA2 first, and I really like the atmosphere of the game, but I still like LBA1 better. I think it has got more original ideas and storyline (even if it's a bit linear) and it's also harder, more like a challenge. In LBA2, you can beat up everyone in agressive mode, in LBA1 it's much harder to do, I think the characters have shorter reaction time, and you can't use agressive mode with eg.: the 3rd (red) magic level against 3rd level (red) clones. However, in LBA2 it's possible to use agressive mode on eg.: 3rd level (red) franco guards with the 3rd (red) level of magic.
Basically LBA1 is a better game than LBA2, it also has fewer bugs, so it's definetely worth playing, even if you think it can't be better than LBA2.

You know, it's interesting. A certain game guru I know told me the same thing (that LBA1 was unbeatable).

But I played the game and while it's certainly challanging, it's no where near unbeatable.

You just have to be patient. Unless you've played it enough times, you won't be able to pound your enemies like Rambo. You'll have to sneak and lure them and take your time.

oops i forgot to double check my statement. I meant that for some people who feel about lba1 as i wrote it, lba2 felt flat because it didn´t deliver the aspects that made lba1 special.

also, it´s unreal that some people think lba2 music is better...come on. That´s so unfair. Even tho the production is clearer the composition of the first is magnificent.

Are you kidding ? Alright, this debate is never gonna end, there's no better LBA, they are both great but different, so we just are more responsive to some aspects of one or another. Also, LBA2 is better (the musics are so much better) !

Definetly no game is better than the other, they both has their great things..

LBA 1 is darker than LBA 2? I mostly disagree.

First of all, instead of starting out in a shiny outside environment (except for the prison), you in LBA2 are starting a rainy dark weather.

The whole underground, rainy weather and emerald moon makes LBA2 more dark and creepy.

And how could I forget the dome of the slate.

LBA1 has darker sewers, and more of the temple of bu.

The temple of Bù in LBA 1 is exactly as big as the temple in LBA 2. It's just that the esmer base and the railways make it less dark.

I love all these people who say that LBA1 is better because it has no cheats. Congratulations, so you are one of those people who have to cheat to defeat LBA2! LBA2 in my opinion is still hard enough for those unspoiled.

Yeah I love playing LBA2 and seeing how the same places have changed.
I was really impressed with the continuity for some reason.

LBA1 really deserves to be played if you like LBA2.
There is no doubt everyone who play LBA1 first then LBA2 (like me) prefer the first game.

No. I need proof that everyone, including those who hate LBA1, like LBA1 more than LBA2 if they play it first.
